Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic CF-XZ6 Series — 7.6V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CF-VZSU0WU)
This is a 7.6V, 2600mAh (19.76Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Panasonic Toughbook CF-XZ6 and CF-XZ62 series ultraportable laptops. It fits all CF-XZ6 variants including the CF-XZ62DCQR and CF-XZ62FKQR, covering OEM part numbers CF-VZSU0WU, CF-VZSU0XU, and CF-VZSU0ZU. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold a stable charge through a full field session.
- CF-XZ6 and CF-XZ62 platform fit: All CF-XZ6 and CF-XZ62 variants share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — the same cell powers every model in the line without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a CF-XZ6 unit, cycling it through full charge and discharge. The BMS negotiated cleanly, charge current stepped down correctly at the top of the voltage curve, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff without fault codes.
- Post-install discharge cycle on the CF-XZ6: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after swapping the CF-XZ6 cell
When the CF-XZ6 BIOS flags a new battery as degraded or poor health straight after install, the cause is almost always stale EEPROM data from the previous cell — not a fault in the replacement. The BIOS compares the new cell's reported charge capacity against a learned baseline stored from the old battery. Until the system runs a full learn cycle, those figures won't match. Complete one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, then check BIOS battery status again.
CF-XZ6 shutting down at 20–30% state of charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge reads 25% but the cell voltage has already dropped below the threshold the load demands under full CPU and display draw — so the system cuts out. It is a calibration gap, not a defective cell. Run two to three full charge-discharge cycles and the gauge IC will map the new cell accurately. After calibration, shutdown should not occur above 5–7% indicated charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
The CF-XZ6 BIOS shows the replacement battery Wh rating as lower than what's printed on the cell — is the capacity wrong?
The Wh figure the BIOS reports is pulled from EEPROM data the battery controller writes during the learn cycle, not directly from the cell's physical capacity. Until the system completes at least one full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted charge-to-100% cycle, the EEPROM entry can reflect the old cell's degraded Wh rather than the new cell's rated 19.76Wh. Run one full learn cycle and the reported Wh figure should update to match the rated capacity.
The CF-XZ6 charge indicator stops at 80% and won't go higher — is the battery faulty?
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a battery fault. Panasonic's firmware on the CF-XZ6 includes a battery conservation mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during continuous AC use. Check the Panasonic PC Settings Utility under the battery care section — if conservation mode is enabled, disable it and the cell will charge to 100%.
After installing this battery, the CF-XZ6 fuel gauge jumps erratically between 40% and 90% during use — what's causing it?
The fuel gauge IC uses a learned model of the cell's discharge curve to estimate state of charge. On a new cell, that model is built from the old, degraded battery and doesn't match the new chemistry profile yet. The erratic readings are the IC recalibrating in real time as it collects new voltage and current data. Complete three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by full charges and the gauge will track accurately.
