Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Prophet E.I. Series — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SDI-3610C / SDI-3611C)
This is a 36V, 11,600mAh (417.6Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Prophet E.I. and related eBike models. It fits the side-click mounting system used across the E.I., EAlu City Comfort, Alu-City Comfort Plus, and Alu-City Didi-Thurau Edition, plus nine additional models in the same frame family. Replaces OEM part numbers SDI Side-Click 36V, SDI-3610C, and SDI-3611C.
- E.I. and Alu-City frame compatibility: These models share a 36V motor rail and the same side-click latch geometry. The battery management system handshake and connector pinout are identical across the listed variants, so one pack covers the full lineup without adapter changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through a full charge-discharge cycle on the E.I. platform. The BMS held cell balance across all groups, and the over-current protection tripped correctly at motor-start surge before resetting cleanly — no manual intervention needed.
- Post-winter first-ride charging: After any storage period in cold conditions, charge this pack at the lowest available charger rate before the first ride. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and pushing fast charge current below 10°C causes lithium plating on the anode that permanently cuts cycle life.
Motor cutting out mid-hill on a fresh Prophet pack
A sustained climb pulls continuous high current from the battery — often 15A or more depending on rider weight and gradient. If the BMS reads that current as an over-current event, it trips the output protection and cuts power to the motor controller. This pack's BMS is calibrated for the 36V motor used across the E.I. range, so trip thresholds match the motor's actual draw profile. If cut-outs still occur on steep grades, check that the battery contacts and latch are fully seated — a loose connection raises contact resistance and mimics an over-current condition.
Charger shows no activity after the Prophet battery sat unused all winter
A Li-ion pack stored for several months can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage — typically around 25V for a 36V pack. Most chargers refuse to push current into a pack they read as deeply discharged, so the charge indicator stays dark or flashes an error. Connect the charger anyway and leave it for 30 minutes without interrupting the connection. Once cell voltage climbs back above the acceptance threshold, the charger resumes normal operation and the indicator switches to a steady charge state.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Prophet battery cuts out every time I hit a long steep hill — is the pack faulty?
This is a BMS over-current trip, not a defective cell. Sustained climbing draws peak current long enough to trigger the protection circuit, which shuts output until the draw drops. Let the bike coast for 10–15 seconds to allow the BMS to reset, then resume pedalling at a lower assist level. If it trips on short, moderate inclines, check that the side-click latch is fully engaged — a loose battery connection raises resistance at the terminal and causes false over-current readings.
My Prophet eBike shows noticeably less range on cold mornings even with a full charge — what's happening?
Li-ion capacity drops 15–25% below 5°C because cold slows the electrochemical reaction inside the cells. The pack reports full charge because voltage is correct, but usable energy delivery is reduced until the cells warm up. Store the battery indoors overnight and fit it to the bike just before riding — a warm pack at the start of a cold ride holds its range significantly better than one left on the bike overnight. Capacity returns to normal once cell temperature rises above 10°C during the ride.
The charger light stays off and nothing happens when I plug in the Prophet battery after months of storage — how do I fix it?
The pack has likely discharged below the charger's acceptance voltage floor, which for 36V packs is typically around 25V. Most chargers block current injection below that threshold as a safety measure, so they appear completely inactive. Connect the charger and leave it undisturbed for 30 minutes — some chargers trickle a recovery current once they detect even a marginal cell voltage, which brings the pack back above the acceptance floor. After that window, the charge indicator should switch to its normal charging state and proceed at full rate.
