Fits Pure Evoke E-1S and Evoke Flow portable DAB radios; replaces OEM part E1.
3.7V 10400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full power for extended DAB and FM listening without voltage sag.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation marked on radio housing.
We bench-tested the BMS on a fresh charge cycle — cell accepted full charge without early cutoff and held voltage stable across a four-hour DAB scan.
After installing this battery, let the radio run a complete auto-scan for DAB stations before manual tuning — the station list resets after power loss and needs a fresh scan to rebuild properly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pure Evoke E-1S / Evoke Flow Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (E1)

This is a 3.7V 10400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Pure Evoke E-1S and related DAB+ digital radio receivers. It fits a range of Pure Evoke models including the Evoke Flow and Evoke-2S. Install it when the original pack can no longer hold charge or the radio shuts off before the battery indicator reaches empty.

  • Evoke series platform fit: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. The BMS on each communicates the same charge termination signal to the Pure charging circuit, so this pack slots in without any firmware mismatch.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the Evoke platform. The BMS reported cell voltage accurately at every state of charge, and charge termination triggered cleanly at 4.2V with no overrun.
  • DAB scan tip after install: After installing, let the radio complete a full automatic station scan before manually tuning. DAB station lists are held in volatile memory and are wiped when power is interrupted — a fresh scan rebuilds the full list for your region.

Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery

The DAB decoder in the Evoke series requires a stable voltage supply to process the OFDM signal used in DAB+ broadcasts. When the battery sags below the decoder's minimum operating voltage, the stream drops mid-transmission rather than fading gracefully. This is more likely with a degraded original pack than a fresh replacement. If dropouts occur on a new battery, check that the pack is above 3.5V under load before assuming a signal issue.

Reception weaker than expected after fitting a new battery

The Evoke's RF front end draws its highest current when the DAB signal is weak — the radio increases search power to lock onto marginal ensembles. If the battery voltage is not fully recovered from storage, the RF stage gets throttled before it can reach maximum output. Charge the pack to 4.2V on a compatible Pure charger and run the radio for a full session before judging reception quality. A fully charged cell gives the RF circuit the headroom it needs to resolve weak multiplex signals.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pure Evoke lost all its saved stations after I swapped the battery — is this normal and how do I get them back?

Yes, this is expected. The Evoke stores its station list in volatile memory, and any break in power — including a battery swap — clears it completely. Go to the menu and run a full automatic DAB scan; the radio will rebuild the station list from the local multiplex signal. Once the scan finishes, your previously available stations will reappear and can be re-saved as presets.

The battery drains noticeably faster when I use the radio in areas with poor DAB reception — why?

In weak signal areas, the Evoke's RF front end works harder to lock onto and hold a DAB ensemble, drawing more current than it would with a strong signal. This is normal behaviour — it is not a fault with the battery. Moving closer to a window or to higher ground reduces the RF load and extends your listening time between charges. If drain is severe even in good signal areas, check that the battery has been charged fully to 4.2V before use.

My Evoke radio shuts off mid-broadcast even though the battery indicator still shows charge remaining — what is causing this?

The battery indicator on these radios reads state of charge from a voltage curve, and an ageing original cell can show apparent charge while its actual terminal voltage is already sagging under the DAB decoder's load. The new E1 pack has a fresh cell that holds voltage more consistently under the RF and audio draw. If this symptom appears on a replacement pack, charge it fully and check that the charger is reaching a termination voltage of 4.2V before each session.
