Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Quanta SW1 / TW3 / TW5 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (90-NFY6B1000Z)
This is an 11.1V, 6600mAh (73.26Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Asus VivoBook SW1, TW3, and TW5 laptops. It replaces a degraded or failed original cell to restore portable computing capability. Install it when the existing battery no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- SW1, TW3, and TW5 compatibility: These three models share the same 11.1V three-cell battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell covers all three. The EEPROM on this replacement carries the correct identification data so the BIOS recognises it without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on VivoBook-platform hardware. The BMS held charge termination correctly at full voltage, and the protection circuit tripped as expected under over-discharge conditions without requiring a manual reset.
- Post-install calibration tip: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff under normal load, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap — skipping this step leaves the fuel gauge IC calibrated to the old cell's degraded profile.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The VivoBook BIOS stores cycle count and health data in EEPROM tied to the original battery. When a new cell is installed, the BIOS reads stale data and flags the replacement as degraded — even though the cell is fresh. This is a data mismatch, not a hardware fault. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% and the BIOS recalculates health against the new cell's actual voltage curve.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% shown on the OS fuel gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's degraded discharge curve. The gauge shows 20–30% remaining, but the new cell's actual voltage under combined CPU and display load drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the gauge catches up. It is a calibration lag, not a defective battery. Force a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff twice in a row — after the second cycle the gauge IC resets its reference points and the shutdown behaviour stops.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VivoBook shows the battery Wh rating as wrong in system info after fitting this cell — is the battery faulty?
No. The Wh figure shown in system information is pulled from the EEPROM data written to the original battery at manufacture. A new cell carries its own EEPROM values, and the OS sometimes displays the old cell's rated figure until the BIOS completes a full learn cycle. Run one complete discharge-to-hibernate and then a full uninterrupted charge — after that cycle the system reads the correct 73.26Wh from the new cell's EEPROM.
The replacement battery stopped charging at 80% and will not go higher — what is causing this?
The VivoBook BIOS includes a charge limit feature that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress when the laptop runs plugged in most of the time. This is a firmware-controlled setting, not a fault with the battery. Check the Asus Battery Health Charging utility in Windows — set it to "Full Capacity Mode" to allow charging to 100%.
After replacing the battery the OS fuel gauge jumps around wildly between readings — normal or defective?
This is normal for the first two to three cycles. The fuel gauge IC inside the laptop uses historical discharge data from the old cell to estimate remaining charge — with a new cell installed, those reference points are wrong and the gauge output swings until it accumulates enough data to build a new model. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by full charges and the readings will stabilise.
