This is a 24V Ni-MH 3000mAh replacement battery pack for the Ramset DynaDrill 524 and DD524 cordless drill. It also fits the PA6-GF35 and PAGF35 handle assemblies that share the same battery bay and connector layout. Voltage and capacity match the original pack spec exactly.
- DynaDrill 524 / DD524 / PA6-GF35 platform fit: All four listed models draw from the same 24V rail and use the same physical connector and latch geometry. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across the platform, so the pack seats and communicates without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated trigger-pull events on a DynaDrill 524 and monitored the BMS response to motor-start inrush current. The overcurrent protection threshold held correctly at high-torque engagement — no nuisance trips during normal fastening cycles.

BMS overcurrent trip on DynaDrill 524 motor-start inrush
The DynaDrill 524 motor draws a current spike at the moment the trigger is pulled — this inrush can be three to five times the steady running current. On a new or storage-depleted pack, the BMS may read that spike as a fault and cut the output rail. This is not a defective pack. Run two partial load cycles first so the BMS can profile the motor's inrush signature and set its threshold accordingly. After conditioning, trigger-pull trips should stop entirely.
Charger not recognising the pack after storage
Ni-MH packs self-discharge during shelf storage, and if cell voltage drops below the charger's acceptance window the charger will not initiate a charge cycle. The DynaDrill charger typically requires the pack to present above approximately 18V before it will start. If the charger shows no activity, use a compatible Ni-MH charger with a recovery or "wake" mode to bring the pack voltage up to 20V or above, then transfer to the standard charger to complete the full charge.

My DynaDrill 524 cuts out the moment I pull the trigger on tough fasteners — is this the battery?
That's a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead pack. The motor-start inrush current on the DynaDrill 524 spikes sharply at trigger pull, and a new or storage-depleted Ni-MH pack can register that spike as a fault. Run two moderate-load cycles first — drilling softwood or driving short screws — so the BMS profiles the motor draw before you hit maximum torque. After two conditioning cycles the cutouts should stop.
The drill bogs down and loses torque halfway through a job even though the battery shows charge — what's happening?
That's voltage sag under sustained load. As the Ni-MH cells heat up during extended use, internal resistance rises and the voltage rail drops enough to reduce motor torque noticeably. Check the battery contacts on both the pack and the drill handle for oxidation or debris — corroded contacts add resistance and make sag worse. Clean contacts with a dry cloth, let the pack cool for ten minutes, then resume. If sag continues on a cool pack, the cells may have capacity fade from repeated shallow cycling and the pack needs replacement.
My Ramset charger just blinks or does nothing when I put the new replacement pack on it — what do I check first?
Ni-MH packs lose charge during storage, and the DynaDrill charger will not start a charge cycle if the pack voltage is too low — typically below around 18V. A blinking or inactive charger light is the charger refusing to engage, not a faulty unit. If you have a Ni-MH charger with a recovery or trickle-start mode, use that to bring the pack up to approximately 20V, then swap to the standard Ramset charger to finish the charge cycle.
