Fits Redmi A2 and replaces OEM battery part number BN5F.
3.82V nominal voltage and 5000mAh capacity sustain the phone's modem, display, and processor loads without unexpected shutdowns mid-cycle.
Connector attaches flat to the device motherboard; locking tab seats flush against the housing edge without forcing.
We bench-tested this cell on a standard charge cycle and observed normal BMS voltage ramp with no early cutoff or thermal spike.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Redmi A2 — 3.82V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN5F)

This is a 3.82V, 5000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Redmi A2 smartphone (models 23026RN54G and 23028RN4DG). It replaces OEM part BN5F using the same cell dimensions — 94.00 × 64.30 × 4.80mm — and matches the original connector and flex cable routing. Capacity is rated at 19.1Wh.

  • A2 variant fit — 23026RN54G and 23028RN4DG: Both regional variants of the Redmi A2 use the same BN5F cell format, voltage rail, and BMS connector. The physical dimensions and tab placement are identical across both model numbers, so one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Redmi A2 unit. The BMS accepted charge current without fault codes, and cell voltage held steady under screen-on and modem load without triggering low-voltage cutoff prematurely.
  • First-cycle fast charge protocol: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC pushes high current into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the Redmi A2 reports wrong battery percentage after a BN5F swap

The Redmi A2 uses a coulomb counter in the fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state against the original cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references the old curve — so the percentage displayed can be off by 10–20% in either direction. This is not a fault in the replacement cell. One complete discharge to shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge resets the coulomb counter and aligns it to the new cell's actual curve. After that cycle, percentage accuracy stabilises.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the new cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under high-draw load — typically when the modem fires or the screen is at full brightness — even though the UI shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge is still running on an uncalibrated curve, so it overestimates remaining capacity. The BMS cuts power when cell voltage hits approximately 3.4V under load, regardless of what the OS reports. Run one full discharge-to-shutdown cycle and recharge to 100% to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate to the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Redmi A2 won't turn on at all after the BN5F replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?

Probably not dead, but the BMS has locked out the cell due to deep discharge below 2.5V per cell. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell to bring voltage above the BMS reactivation threshold before normal charging resumes. If the charge LED doesn't appear within 45 minutes, check that the flex connector is fully seated.

Fast charging stopped working on the Redmi A2 after fitting the new battery — the phone only slow-charges now.

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell may not yet handshake correctly with the phone's charge IC for the proprietary fast-charge protocol. This is normal and usually resolves after one complete slow charge to 100%. Disable any fast-charge setting in the battery menu, let the phone charge fully on a standard 5V charger, then re-enable fast charging on the next cycle.

The battery percentage on my Redmi A2 is jumping around erratically — it dropped from 60% to 31% in two minutes with light use.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new BN5F cell's discharge curve after being calibrated to the worn-out original. The coulomb counter has no accurate reference point yet for the new cell, so reported percentage is unstable. Run one full discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts down on its own — then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging off. After that cycle, the IC locks onto the new curve and percentage readouts stabilise.
