Fits Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Note 3 Pro models; replaces OEM battery BM46.
3.8V, 3900mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers stable voltage across typical smartphone loads without mid-cycle sag.
Connector slides onto the stock contact pad with no locking tab; orientation marked on the cell itself.
We bench-tested the BMS on a Redmi Note 3 Pro charger; cell accepted charge without fault codes and held 3.8V at rest after a full cycle.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Redmi BM46 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM46)

The BM46 is a 3.8V, 3900mAh (14.82Wh) Li-Polymer cell that replaces the factory battery in Redmi smartphones carrying the BM46 part number. It fits the physical footprint at 74.61 × 60.20 × 5.60mm and connects via the original flex cable and BMS harness. If your phone shuts down early, charges slowly, or swells, this cell is the direct swap.

  • BM46 platform fit: Redmi devices on the BM46 platform share the same connector pinout, voltage rail, and BMS handshake. The replacement cell matches the original discharge curve so the fuel gauge IC can track capacity without misreporting state-of-charge.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, load, and cutoff on BM46-compatible hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without a protection trip, and the coulomb counter initialised correctly on the first full discharge cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state-of-charge window.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

A fresh BM46 cell has a steeper voltage cliff than a broken-in cell under modem or screen load. When the phone demands a current spike — LTE handoff, display brightness jump — the cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold before the reported percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped the new cell's internal resistance, so it reads capacity optimistically. Run one full discharge to 0% and a full charge to 100% without interruption; the coulomb counter resets its reference and the early shutdowns stop.

Phone feels warm near the battery on the first few charges

A new Li-Polymer cell comes with slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The charge IC compensates by pushing a higher voltage differential across that impedance, which generates heat at the cell surface. This is normal for the first two to three cycles as the electrolyte settles and impedance drops. If the phone stays warm past the fifth charge, check that the battery flex connector is fully seated — a partial connection increases contact resistance and keeps impedance elevated.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Redmi phone powers on for a second then dies immediately after I put in the new BM46 — what's happening?

The cell was likely stored below 2.5V and the BMS has locked it out to prevent damage. Plug in the original charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle-charge the cell up to recovery voltage before the BMS re-initialises. Once the charging indicator appears on screen, the lockout has cleared and you can proceed with a normal charge cycle.

The percentage jumps from 45% straight to 15% and then the phone dies — is the cell defective?

This is a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a defective cell. The coulomb counter in your Redmi device is still using the discharge curve it built for the old, degraded battery. Let the phone drain fully until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual discharge curve. After one complete cycle the percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped in the new BM46 — the phone only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell replacement, the phone's charge controller sometimes falls back to standard 5V charging while it validates the new BMS. This is a handshake behaviour, not a fault. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — the proprietary fast-charge protocol re-negotiates once the BMS has logged a completed cycle. If fast charging still doesn't return after the second charge attempt, reseat the battery flex connector and confirm it is fully clicked down.
