Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

REFLECTA X7-Scan — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the REFLECTA X7-Scan portable scanner. It slots into the X7-Scan to restore power when the original cell no longer holds a charge. Capacity is 1000mAh (3.7Wh) — identical to the factory specification.
- X7-Scan platform fit: The X7-Scan uses a compact single-cell Li-ion pack at 3.7V nominal. The cell dimensions — 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm — match the original bay geometry. The BMS handles charge termination and discharge protection at the cell level, so the host device's charge circuit sees the same impedance profile as the factory cell.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and accepted charge termination without fault. No thermal event was recorded during the charge cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging if the option is available and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference point against the new cell's discharge curve before it begins reporting state of charge to the OS.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the X7-Scan after a cell swap
A new cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity curve than the aged cell it replaces. The fuel gauge IC on the X7-Scan was calibrated against the old cell's curve. When the scanner draws a burst of current — during a wireless sync or a high-resolution scan — the new cell's voltage briefly dips below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the displayed percentage reads mid-range. The BMS trips and the device shuts down. One full discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and eliminates most of these early shutdowns.
X7-Scan shows incorrect battery percentage after replacement
The fuel gauge IC stores a learned model of the battery's discharge curve in memory. Swapping the cell does not reset that model automatically. The IC continues applying the old curve to the new cell, which causes the percentage display to jump, stall, or read incorrectly — especially below 40% and above 80%. To force a recalibration, drain the battery until the device shuts off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one full cycle the gauge IC updates its reference and the percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions
The X7-Scan won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead?
It is likely not dead. If a Li-ion cell discharges below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS locks out to prevent damage and the device shows no signs of life. Connect the X7-Scan to a charger and leave it for at least 30–60 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout. If the charge indicator light does not appear after 90 minutes, try a different cable and power source before concluding the cell is faulty.
The X7-Scan feels warm near the battery during the first charge after fitting this replacement — is that normal?
A new cell typically has higher internal impedance than one that has been cycled. The charge IC pushes the same current it would into a broken-in cell, and the higher resistance converts more of that energy to heat. Warmth during the first one or two charge cycles is expected and diminishes as the cell breaks in. If the device becomes hot to the touch or the charge stops and restarts repeatedly, interrupt the charge, let it cool to room temperature, and restart — check that the contact pads in the battery bay are clean and seated fully before the next cycle.
After fitting the new battery, the percentage on the X7-Scan jumps erratically — it reads 60%, then drops to 30% in minutes without heavy use.
The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge model it learned from the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a different voltage-capacity curve, so the IC misreads state of charge and reports erratic numbers. Run one complete cycle: use the scanner until the device shuts itself off from low battery, then charge in a single uninterrupted session to 100%. The coulomb counter resets its reference against the new cell and the percentage display stabilises after that first full cycle.
