Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta TN5100 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 2.4V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Rowenta TN5100 electric shaver range. It fits the TN5100, TN5100F0, TN5120, TN5120F0, and additional models in the same series. Swap it in when the original no longer holds enough charge to complete a shave.
- TN5100 series fitment: These models share the same 2.4V motor rail, cell dimensions, and connector orientation. The BMS in each expects a Ni-MH cell — swapping chemistry type triggers a charging fault, so the match here matters.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on the TN5100 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without a protection trip, and motor speed held steady through the full discharge curve.
- Charging port drying before connection: If you rinse the shaver head after use, dry the charging port completely before docking. Water bridging the charging contacts causes a BMS protection trip that the shaver reports as a dead battery — not a charging error. A dry port clears it.
Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the TN5100
Ni-MH cells in shavers degrade faster when charged daily from a shallow discharge. The battery never fully cycles, so the charge indicator drifts — the shaver shows full but cuts out early. This is a cell-level issue, not a dock fault. Replacing the cell resets the cycle history and restores accurate indicator behaviour.
Motor speed dropping before the indicator reaches empty
The TN5100 motor draws a short current spike each time the cutting block engages. As a Ni-MH cell ages, internal resistance rises and voltage sags under that load — motor speed drops noticeably before the low-battery indicator triggers. The indicator reads state of charge at rest, not under load, so the gap between "looks fine" and "slows down" widens as the cell ages. A fresh cell at 2.4V nominal closes that gap immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Rowenta TN5100 docked overnight but the battery is still flat — is the dock faulty?
Not necessarily. Cleaning product residue on the dock contacts oxidises the metal surface and interrupts the charge circuit — the shaver sits in the dock but draws no current. Wipe both the dock pins and the shaver's charging contacts with a dry cloth or a cotton bud lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. If the shaver begins charging after that, the dock is fine and the original battery is the fault.
The shaver feels warm after a few passes even though the battery is fairly new — is something wrong?
Some heat is normal. The TN5100 housing is compact, so motor heat and battery discharge heat share a small space with limited airflow. If the case feels hot rather than warm, check whether the cutting block is running resistance — hair buildup in the foil or rotary head forces the motor to draw higher current, which raises battery temperature faster. Clean the head thoroughly and the heat level should drop back to normal.
My TN5100 stopped charging after I rinsed the head — the indicator light just blinks and cuts off.
Water bridging the charging contacts triggers a BMS protection trip. The shaver registers this as a fault state, not a low-battery state, which is why the indicator blinks rather than showing a steady charge. Remove the shaver from the dock, shake out any visible water, and leave the charging port facing down for at least two hours before docking again. Once the port is fully dry, the BMS resets and charging resumes at the normal rate.
