Fits Samsung SM-R630N Galaxy Buds Live earbud; replaces OEM battery EB-BR630ABY.
This 3.88V, 500mAh Li-Polymer cell restores full audio and connectivity runtime to the wireless earbud.
Connector is a surface-mount pad; no mechanical locking tab — alignment-critical during reassembly.
We bench-tested the EB-BR630ABY against the OEM baseline; BMS accepted full charge without fault codes.
On first insertion, charge the earbud in the base station for one complete cycle before use — the base needs to log the new cell's voltage signature before talk-time estimates register accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Live SM-R630N — 3.88V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BR630ABY)

This is a 3.88V, 500mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live (SM-R630N). It replaces part number EB-BR630ABY and fits directly into the earbud housing. When the original cell degrades and the buds no longer hold a usable charge, this restores full capacity.

  • SM-R630N and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro compatibility: Both models share the same cell form factor, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol — 30.70 x 21.00 x 5.50mm footprint with a 3.88V nominal charge curve matched to Samsung's charging IC.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through Samsung's charge controller and confirmed the BMS accepted the handshake without fault codes. The protection circuit responded correctly to both charge cutoff at 4.35V and low-voltage cutoff near 3.0V.
  • First charge after installation: Place the earbud in the case and allow a complete charge cycle before pairing. The Galaxy Buds Live case logs the new cell during this cycle — skipping it causes the companion app to display an inaccurate battery percentage.

Why the Galaxy Buds Live cuts out mid-call on a new battery

The Buds Live drives two simultaneous loads — audio playback and the Bluetooth radio. Under a voice call, peak draw spikes above what idle streaming requires. If the replacement cell hasn't completed a full charge cycle, the BMS can interpret the brief voltage sag from that combined draw as an undervoltage event and cut power. This is not a faulty battery — it resolves after the first two or three full charge cycles stabilise the cell's internal resistance.

Companion app showing 0% or incorrect battery level after replacement

Samsung's Galaxy Wearable app reads battery state through the BMS, not raw voltage. After a cell swap, the BMS ships at storage voltage — roughly 3.6–3.7V — and the app cannot map that to an accurate percentage until the cell completes a calibration cycle. Place both earbuds in the case, close the lid, and let the case charge them to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the app percentage will track correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

The charging case shows a full charge but the left earbud cuts off after just a few minutes of use — what's causing that?

The earbud cell shipped at storage voltage, and the case's charge indicator reflects case battery level, not earbud cell state. The BMS inside the earbud hasn't completed a full calibration cycle yet, so it cuts off early when the combined Bluetooth and audio draw causes a brief voltage sag. Place the earbud in the case and run one uninterrupted charge to 100% — after that cycle, the cell's state-of-charge mapping stabilises and early cutoff stops.

Talk time is noticeably shorter than rated for the first few days after fitting a new battery — is the cell defective?

It isn't defective. A fresh Li-Polymer cell needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles before its internal resistance settles and capacity reaches rated output. During those early cycles the BMS is conservative with discharge curves, which cuts usable capacity short. Run the earbuds down to the low-battery warning and charge fully each time — by cycle five, measured capacity should reach within 5% of the 500mAh rating.

The earbud gets noticeably warm during extended calls even after the new battery is installed — is that normal?

Some warmth is expected. The Buds Live housing is compact, and a voice call sustains both the audio amplifier and the Bluetooth radio simultaneously — that combined draw in a sealed enclosure generates heat. If the earbud is only warm to the touch, the cell is operating within normal parameters. If it becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable against the ear, remove it immediately and check that the replacement cell dimensions match the spec: 30.70 x 21.00 x 5.50mm — an oversized cell can press against the housing and restrict thermal dissipation.
