Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SCANGRIP I-View COB LE — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (03.5328)
This 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the internal rechargeable cell in the SCANGRIP I-View COB LE work light (03.5026) and the I-Match (03.5412). It matches the original 55.50 × 25.40 × 9.00mm cell footprint, OEM part number 03.5328. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge through an inspection job.
- I-View and I-Match platform fit: These SCANGRIP inspection lights share the same slim-profile Li-Polymer cell format, connector pinout, and driver board interface — one part number covers the full range listed above.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the I-View COB LE driver board. The BMS accepted the cell without error, current draw matched OEM levels, and the driver stepped through all output modes correctly.
- Single-cell replacement protocol: The I-View COB LE runs one Li-Polymer cell — not a multi-cell pack. Before reinstalling, confirm the replacement cell rests at 3.6–3.7V open-circuit. Installing a deeply discharged cell below 2.5V can cause the driver to reject it on first charge.
Flashlight dimming before the battery indicator reads low
The I-View COB LE driver uses brownout protection to step output down before the cell reaches its cutoff threshold. This is not a battery fault — it is the driver protecting the cell from hard discharge. What you see as early dimming is the driver reducing current draw as cell voltage sags under load. On an aged cell, internal resistance rises, so voltage sag happens earlier in the discharge curve than it did when the cell was new. A fresh 1400mAh cell at full charge restores the full-output window before the driver steps down.
Flashlight not charging after the cell fully depleted
Li-Polymer cells that discharge below 2.5V trigger a low-voltage lockout in most charger circuits, including the one built into the I-View COB LE. The charger sees the cell as a fault condition rather than a flat battery and refuses to begin the charge cycle. If the indicator shows no activity at all when plugged in, the cell has likely dropped below recovery threshold. Replace the cell — at this point, the original cell will not recover reliably even if a trickle-charge workaround brings it back above 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SCANGRIP I-View COB LE dims quickly even on a full charge — is the battery shot?
Yes, this is the main sign of a degraded Li-Polymer cell. As the cell ages, internal resistance rises, and voltage sags under the COB LED's current draw earlier in the discharge curve. The driver interprets that sag as low battery and steps output down — even though the indicator may still show charge remaining. Replacing the 03.5328 cell with a fresh 1400mAh unit restores the full-brightness window before the driver steps down.
The I-View COB LE cycles through modes on its own near the end of a charge — what's happening?
This is driver brownout cycling. When the cell voltage drops to the lower edge of the driver's operating range, the driver loses enough voltage to hold its current mode, resets, and restarts — which can look like the light flicking between modes on its own. It is not a firmware fault. Switch to a lower output mode to bring current draw down and stabilise the voltage; the cycling will stop. If it starts happening earlier and earlier in a session, the cell is no longer holding voltage under load and needs replacement.
I replaced the battery in my I-View COB LE but the charger won't start a charge cycle — what's wrong?
The most common cause is a replacement cell that arrived below the driver's acceptance threshold — typically under 2.8V open-circuit. The built-in charger circuit treats a cell in that range as a fault and will not initiate charging. Check the replacement cell's open-circuit voltage with a multimeter before installation; it should read between 3.6V and 3.7V. If the cell reads lower, use a bench charger to bring it to 3.0V first, then reinstall and connect to the I-View's onboard charger.
