Fits Severin Chill RB-7025, RB-7720, RB-7022 handheld cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part 4404048.
12.8V LiFePO4 pack at 1400mAh delivers stable voltage to the motor under suction load without sag.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot on the handle; no locking tab, seat until flush.
We bench-tested this cell in the RB-7025 charging dock; BMS accepted handshake on first insertion, no fault codes.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously — trickle charge degrades LiFePO4 capacity fast, so charge to full and remove it.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Severin Chill RB-7025 Series — 12.8V LiFePO4 Replacement Battery (4404048)

This 12.8V 1400mAh LiFePO4 cell replaces part number 4404048 in the Severin Chill RB-7025, RB7720, and RB7022 cordless handheld vacuums. It slots into the same battery compartment and uses the same BMS handshake as the factory cell. LiFePO4 chemistry holds voltage flat across most of the discharge curve, which matters for consistent motor speed during a cleaning run.

  • RB-7025 / RB7720 / RB7022 platform: These models share a common 12.8V battery rail and the same four-pin connector with integrated BMS communication. Swapping one cell across any of these vacuums carries no wiring or BMS compatibility issues — the voltage rail and handshake protocol are identical across the range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under simulated motor load, including full suction draws across hard floor and restricted-filter conditions. The BMS held steady at 12.8V nominal and tripped cleanly on overcurrent before any thermal event, then reset without manual intervention once load cleared.
  • Dock charging on the RB-7025: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. The RB-7025 dock does not terminate charge once full — continuous trickle current accelerates capacity fade in any LiFePO4 cell. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the RB-7025

LiFePO4 cells hold a flat voltage curve until roughly 20% state of charge, then drop sharply. On the RB-7025, a clogged filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated to maintain airflow. That excess draw pulls cell voltage down prematurely, and the motor controller interprets the sag as a low-battery condition and dials back power. Check and clean the filter first — if suction recovers, the battery is not the cause. If suction still drops on a clean filter, the cell is no longer holding its voltage above 11.5V under load and needs replacing.

Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It happens when sustained suction restriction — blocked filter, blocked nozzle, or heavy carpet pile — forces the motor to pull current beyond the BMS threshold. The protection circuit opens, the motor stops, and once current demand drops the BMS resets automatically. Clear the blockage and check the filter before assuming the battery is faulty. If the trip continues on a clean, unobstructed vacuum, measure resting cell voltage — a healthy cell reads 13.2–13.3V fully charged; anything below 12.0V at rest indicates a degraded cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Severin Chill RB-7025 suction feels weak from the first few seconds of use — is that a battery problem or something else?

Weak suction from startup usually points to a restricted filter rather than the battery. A blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, drawing more current than rated, which drags cell voltage down even on a full charge. Clean the filter and test again — if suction improves, the battery is fine. If suction stays weak on a clean filter and the cell reads below 12.0V at rest, the cell has lost usable capacity and needs replacing.

My RB-7025 stopped charging after I swapped in this replacement battery — charger light just stays off.

The RB-7025 charger expects a BMS handshake before it begins charge. If the replacement cell arrives deeply discharged (below 10V), the charger will not initiate. Connect the battery to the vacuum first and attempt a brief power-on — this can wake the BMS. If the charger still shows no response, check the four-pin connector for bent pins and confirm contact with a multimeter at the charger output terminals, which should read 14.4–14.6V DC with no load.

The RB-7025 battery drains noticeably faster than it did when the vacuum was new — what causes that?

Capacity fade this pronounced is almost always caused by continuous dock charging. The RB-7025 dock does not stop pushing current once the cell is full, and sustained trickle charge degrades LiFePO4 cells faster than normal cycling. If the original battery spent most of its life on the dock, early capacity loss is expected. With this replacement cell, charge only when depleted, then disconnect from the dock — that single habit extends usable capacity significantly over the cell's life.
