Fits Sonos Move and MOVE1US1 speakers; replaces OEM part number 111-00001.
14.6V and 2400mAh capacity delivers 35.04Wh to restore full speaker runtime without charge loss.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with a single locking tab; no adapter needed.
Bench test showed clean BMS handshake on first insertion; cell accepted full charge cycle without fault codes.
On first use, discharge the speaker fully before recharging — shallow top-off cycles cause fuel gauge drift on this Li-ion cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sonos Move / MOVE1US1 — 14.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (111-00001)

This is a 14.6V, 2400mAh (35.04Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Sonos Move portable speaker. It fits the Move and MOVE1US1 variants and restores untethered operation when the original cell has degraded. OEM part numbers 111-00001 and IP-03-6802-001 both apply to this pack.

  • Move and MOVE1US1 compatibility: Both variants run the same 14.6V four-cell architecture with an identical BMS handshake, so one pack covers both. The connector and cell configuration are shared across the production run.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and full discharge on a Move unit. The BMS communicated state-of-charge correctly to the speaker's firmware, and the fuel gauge tracked accurately across the full voltage range from 16.8V charged down to the cutoff threshold.
  • Monthly discharge cycle on the Move: The Move spends most of its life on the charging base — that constant top-off without a full discharge causes fuel gauge drift over time. Run the speaker down below 20% at least once a month before placing it back on the base to keep cell calibration accurate.

Why the Move's audio distorts before the battery indicator reaches empty

As the Li-ion pack discharges toward its lower voltage limit, cell voltage sags under the combined draw of the amplifier and the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth radio. The amplifier receives less voltage than it needs to reproduce the signal cleanly, and it clips — producing audible distortion before the indicator has flagged low battery. This is a voltage-sag symptom, not a speaker fault. A fresh pack with healthy internal resistance eliminates the sag and pushes the distortion threshold well below the low-battery cutoff.

Move won't wake from USB-C after sitting unused for several weeks

A deeply discharged Li-ion pack can fall below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V per cell — and the charger will not initiate a charge session because it cannot negotiate a valid PD contract. The BMS needs a small trickle current to recover to a negotiable voltage, which the Move's charging base handles better than the USB-C port in this state. Place the speaker on the Sonos charging base rather than a USB-C cable, wait 10–15 minutes, then check whether the LED indicator responds before attempting a USB-C charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Move plays fine at low volume but Bluetooth cuts out whenever I push it loud — why does a new battery fix this?

At high volume, the amplifier draws a current spike that combines with the Bluetooth radio draw and pulls cell voltage down sharply. An aged pack with high internal resistance can't deliver that combined current without sagging below the radio's minimum operating voltage, causing the Bluetooth stack to drop. A replacement pack with low internal resistance holds voltage stable under that peak load. If drop-outs persist after fitting the new battery, check that no other 2.4GHz devices are saturating the channel near the speaker.

My Move shows a full charge indicator but audio stops after about an hour — is that a battery problem or a speaker fault?

That's a classic fuel gauge drift symptom caused by shallow cycling — the speaker spent too long being topped off on the base before ever discharging fully, so the BMS lost accurate track of true capacity. The indicator reads "full" based on corrupted calibration data, not actual cell state. After fitting the replacement pack, run one complete discharge below 20% before returning the Move to the base to let the BMS recalibrate. After one or two full cycles the gauge should track accurately again.

The Move housing gets noticeably warm during long outdoor sessions — is that normal or a sign the battery is failing?

Some warmth is expected — the Class D amplifier and the discharging Li-ion cells both generate heat, and the fabric-wrapped housing traps it more than a vented enclosure would. However, if the housing becomes hot to the touch or the speaker throttles audio output, the cell's internal resistance has likely risen to the point where it's dissipating excess heat under load. Check the battery temperature by touch immediately after a long session — warm is acceptable, hot enough to be uncomfortable is not. Replacing the pack returns internal resistance to spec and brings heat generation back within normal range.
