Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony NW-E435 / NWZ-E436 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1-756-819-11)
This is a 3.7V 570mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Sony NW-E435, NW-E435F, SOK-NWZ-E435F(B), and NWZ-E436 Walkman digital audio players. It replaces OEM part number 1-756-819-11. The slim 3.56mm cell profile matches the original and fits the device's tight internal cavity without modification.
- NW-E435 and NWZ-E436 platform fit: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full listed range without any wiring or adapter changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the NW-E435 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge controller stepped through the expected constant-current and constant-voltage phases cleanly.
- First-charge protocol after cell swap: After installing a new cell, connect the player to a charger before attempting to power on. Media players in this series often enter a deep-discharge protection state during storage, which requires a slow trickle charge — sometimes 20 to 30 minutes — before the device accepts a normal charge current and responds to the power button.
Battery percentage jumping erratically after cell swap
The NW-E435 uses a voltage-threshold method to estimate charge level. After a cell replacement, the player's internal reference points no longer match the new cell's discharge curve. This causes the percentage display to jump — sometimes skipping from 80% to 20% without warning. Run two or three full charge-to-discharge cycles and the indicator recalibrates to the replacement cell's actual voltage curve.
Playback cutting out before the battery indicator shows empty
The audio amplifier in the NW-E435 draws a brief current spike when driving headphone output at higher volumes. Near the end of a discharge cycle, cell voltage sags under that load and briefly drops below the amplifier's minimum operating threshold. The player cuts audio output as a protective response, even if the battery indicator still reads a few percent remaining. If this happens consistently, the replacement cell is likely at or near end of discharge — connect the charger until the device reports full, then check that resting voltage reads 4.15V to 4.20V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My NW-E435 won't turn on even after I installed the new battery — what's happening?
The player most likely entered a deep-discharge protection state during storage and the BMS locked the cell output. Connect the player to a charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button. During that window the charger delivers a low trickle current that brings the cell voltage up to the threshold where the BMS releases the lock. The device should respond normally once resting cell voltage reaches approximately 3.0V.
The battery percentage on my NW-E435 is jumping around wildly after I swapped the cell — is the replacement faulty?
It is not a fault — it is the voltage-threshold indicator recalibrating to the new cell's discharge curve. The player stored reference points for the old, degraded cell, and those no longer match the replacement's actual voltage behaviour. Run two or three complete charge-to-discharge cycles without interrupting them partway through. By the third cycle, the displayed percentage should track the actual cell voltage consistently.
My NW-E435 cuts out mid-song near the end of a charge but the battery still shows some percentage — why?
The audio amplifier draws a brief current spike when the headphone output is active, and at low cell voltage that spike causes a momentary voltage sag below the amplifier's minimum threshold. The player interrupts playback as a protection response, even if the indicator still shows a few percent. This is expected behaviour as the cell approaches full discharge — plug in the charger at that point. If the cutout starts occurring well before the indicator reaches low levels, check that the fully charged resting voltage reads between 4.15V and 4.20V.
