ContourCut 8829 3.7V Hedge Trimmer Replacement Battery

My Gardena ContourCut 8829 cuts for a bit then the blades just stop mid-trim — is the battery dying or is something else wrong?

At 3.6V nominal, this chemistry hits thermal cutoff fast when the cells are worn and internal resistance climbs — the tool pulls a surge load on dense growth, voltage sags below the protection threshold, and the BMS cuts output to protect the cell. It's not the motor or blades. Charge the replacement fully before first use, then load-test it on a thick stem immediately: if it cuts cleanly without stuttering, the old battery was the fault.
