Fits Tele2 i-HEAR cordless phone handset, replaces OEM 3.6V Ni-MH pack.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry restores full talk time on this DECT handset.
Connector slides vertically into handset battery door with positive contact at top.
We bench-tested this cell in a Tele2 base station — voltage held steady under standby draw.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tele2 i-HEAR — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Tele2 i-HEAR cordless phone handset. It fits directly into the handset compartment and restores power to the handset when the original cell has degraded or failed. Voltage and pack size match the original specification.

  • Tele2 i-HEAR handset fit: The i-HEAR uses a 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH pack at a compact 43 × 31 × 8mm footprint. This battery matches that form factor and voltage rail, so the handset charges and operates normally on the base station.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a cordless phone test rig. The cell accepted a full charge from a standard DECT base station circuit and held voltage within expected range across standby and active RF transmit draw.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. Ni-MH cordless phone cells ship in a partial-discharge state and need a slow, full first charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step will result in noticeably shorter talk time from day one.

Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells do not deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle. The electrochemical structure needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cell reaches its nominal 700mAh. If talk time feels short after day one, this is expected behaviour — not a fault. Run the handset to low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat for a few cycles. Capacity will stabilise by cycle four or five.

Base station not charging after battery swap

DECT base chargers use a delta-V detection method to sense that charging has started. A Ni-MH cell that has sat in storage at very low voltage may not show the initial voltage rise the base circuit expects, causing the charge indicator to stay off or show an error. Remove the handset, leave it out of the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly — full contact on both charge pins is required. If the base still shows no charge activity, a brief trickle charge from an external Ni-MH charger at 70mA for one hour will lift the cell voltage above the acceptance threshold, after which the base station will take over normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tele2 i-HEAR has much less range after fitting the new battery — why?

Range drops when the handset's RF transmit circuit can't sustain voltage under load. Ni-MH cells fresh out of storage deliver lower peak current until they've been properly conditioned. A low-voltage pack sags further when the DECT radio fires, and the handset reduces transmit power to compensate. Run three to five full charge cycles — seat the handset in the base until fully charged, use it until battery is low, repeat — and range will recover as the cell reaches rated capacity.

The handset lost its pairing with the base station after I replaced the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones drop their base station pairing when power is fully removed from the handset, which happens during a battery swap. The handset and base need to re-register with each other. On most DECT systems, press and hold the paging or find button on the base for around five seconds until it enters registration mode, then follow the handset pairing prompt. Check the i-HEAR manual for the exact button sequence — the process takes under two minutes.

The i-HEAR battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This points to the handset not making full contact with the base charging pins, not a battery fault. If the handset is slightly off-centre or tilted in the cradle, the pins don't seat correctly and the battery draws standby current without receiving any charge to offset it. Remove the handset, clean the charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset squarely. The charge indicator light should come on within a few seconds of correct seating.
