Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telemotive 10K12SS02P7 / AK02 — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BT10KP-1)
This is a 7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Telemotive crane remote controls. It fits the 10K12SS02P7, AK02, GXZE13653-P, and SLTX Transmitter models, replacing OEM part numbers BT10KP-1 and BT10KP-0. Capacity and dimensions match the original pack: 90.30 × 52.90 × 19.50 mm.
- 10K12SS02P7, AK02, and SLTX platform fit: These Telemotive remotes share the same battery bay dimensions, 7.2V NiMH cell configuration, and connector pinout. Swapping between models in this family does not require rewiring or hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on a Telemotive-compatible test rig. The BMS held voltage above 6.8V under solenoid-activation load spikes without tripping cutoff at rated capacity.
- Monthly charge cycle for idle remotes: Crane remotes often sit unused for weeks. NiMH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per day. If this remote sits more than three weeks without use, put it on the charger before the next job — cells that drop too low may read as dead to the charger and need a conditioning cycle to recover.
Solenoid activation causing power dropout on a freshly installed battery
When a crane remote triggers a solenoid or contactor, the inrush current is brief but sharp — often 3–5× steady-state draw. A NiMH cell at storage voltage (typically around 7.0–7.1V for a 6-cell pack) has higher internal resistance than a fully charged cell at 8.4V. That resistance amplifies the voltage sag during the inrush event. If the sag crosses the BMS undervoltage threshold, the remote cuts out mid-command. Fix: charge the battery fully before first use and verify open-circuit voltage reads 8.2V or higher before operating the crane.
Remote shows low-battery warning immediately after swapping in this pack
A replacement NiMH battery ships at partial storage charge — typically 40–60% capacity. The remote's voltage sensor reads this as low-battery because resting voltage at 50% charge on a NiMH pack sits close to the warning threshold. This is not a fault with the cell. Place the battery on its charger for a full cycle before use. Once the pack reaches full charge, open-circuit voltage should sit between 8.2V and 8.6V and the low-battery indicator will clear.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Telemotive crane remote won't power on at all after sitting in the equipment room for a few months — is the new battery dead?
Most likely the pack discharged below the BMS recovery threshold during storage. NiMH cells self-discharge steadily, and a pack left uncharged for two to three months can drop low enough that the remote's power circuit won't initialise. Connect the battery to the charger and leave it for at least 30–45 minutes before pressing the power button — the cell needs to absorb enough charge to bring voltage above the turn-on floor, typically around 7.2V on this pack.
The crane remote triggers fine on the first command but cuts out on the second or third solenoid activation — why?
This is a voltage-sag issue, not a capacity issue. Each solenoid trigger pulls an inrush spike that briefly drops cell voltage. If the pack isn't fully charged, internal resistance is higher and the sag is deeper, crossing the BMS undervoltage cutoff. Charge the battery to full — confirmed by an open-circuit reading of 8.2V or higher — before operating the crane, and the dropout will stop.
The E-stop on my Telemotive remote feels slower to respond than it did with the old battery — what's causing that?
E-stop response time on these remotes is voltage-dependent. At low or partial charge, the transmitter's output power drops slightly, which can add a small but measurable lag before the receiver registers the stop command. This matters on a crane where every millisecond of brake response counts. Always verify the battery reads at least 8.0V open-circuit before any lift — replace or recharge if it reads below that before starting work.
