Fits Topcon SR GPS, Hiper GPS SR, and TPSWT41 receivers; replaces OEM part number 1000001-01.
7.4V 2600mAh pack delivers 19.24Wh — enough for a full survey session without mid-measurement power drops.
Connector seats into the battery slot with a positive contact tab; locking tab engages vertically into the receiver housing.
We bench-tested this cell on the SR platform; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no handshake delay or fault codes.
After installation, run one full self-test cycle through the receiver menu before fieldwork — the instrument recalibrates its voltage reference to the new cell and prevents premature shutdown warnings during your first logged session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Topcon SR GPS / Hiper GPS SR — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1000001-01)

This is a 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Topcon SR GPS, Hiper GPS SR, and TPSWT41 GNSS receivers. It fits the original battery slot with the same connector and BMS handshake as the factory pack. Capacity matches the product data at 19.24Wh — use this figure for field planning, not web-sourced estimates.

  • SR GPS, Hiper GPS SR, and TPSWT41 compatibility: These three receivers share the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One pack covers all three without adapter or firmware modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the SR GPS charge and discharge sequence and confirmed the BMS handshake triggers correctly at power-on. The protection circuit trips at the expected low-voltage threshold without nuisance cutoffs during normal GNSS logging loads.
  • Post-install calibration on the SR GPS: After fitting a new pack, run a full calibration cycle through the receiver's system menu before field deployment. The SR GPS maps battery state during this sequence. Skipping it causes the charge indicator to show false low-battery warnings during the first survey session, which can interrupt data logging at the wrong moment.

BMS cutoff when the SR GPS initialises its satellite tracking module

At power-on, the SR GPS briefly draws a higher current spike as it powers the GNSS tracking board and internal oscillator simultaneously. A pack with a conservatively set protection circuit — or one that has sat discharged for weeks — can trip its BMS cutoff right at this moment, making the unit appear dead. The pack itself is not faulty; the BMS triggered on an inrush event. Reconnect the battery, allow 60 seconds for the BMS to reset, then power on again. If the cutoff repeats, charge the pack to at least 7.8V before the next power-on attempt.

GNSS position readings resetting or dropping during an active logging session

If the receiver resets or loses fix mid-session without warning, the cause is usually a brief voltage dropout under sustained sensor and radio load — not a satellite or firmware issue. The SR GPS draws steady current across its tracking board, internal memory write cycles, and any active data-link radio, and a degraded or low cell cannot hold voltage flat under that combined load. The dropout lasts only milliseconds but is long enough to trigger a soft reset in the receiver firmware. Check the pack voltage under load with a multimeter at the battery contacts — a healthy cell holds above 7.2V during active logging.

Frequently Asked Questions

The SR GPS won't charge after sitting in the carry case for several months — is the pack dead?

Most likely the BMS has entered a deep-sleep protection state after the cell voltage dropped below the recovery threshold during storage. Connect the battery to the Topcon charger and leave it for at least 90 minutes without interruption — the charger applies a low-current trickle that pulls the BMS out of sleep mode before the main charge cycle begins. If the charge LED never activates after two hours, measure the pack voltage directly at the contacts; anything below 6.0V means the cell has self-discharged past the recovery floor and the pack needs replacing.

The receiver powers on fine but shuts off immediately when I connect it to a PC for data transfer — why?

USB data transfer adds a combined draw on top of the active GNSS tracking load, and if the cell is partially discharged, the voltage sags enough under that combined current to trip the BMS low-voltage cutoff. This is not a USB or software fault. Charge the pack fully before any PC transfer session, and confirm the receiver's battery indicator reads at least three bars before connecting the cable. A full charge to 8.4V gives the cell enough headroom to sustain the transfer load without sagging past the cutoff threshold.

The battery percentage jumps around erratically on the SR GPS display after I installed a new pack — is the pack faulty?

The receiver's charge indicator recalibrates its voltage-to-percentage mapping against a known cell curve, and a new pack has slightly different resting voltages than a worn factory cell. The display reads inconsistent percentages until the instrument completes one full charge and discharge cycle with the new pack installed. Run the receiver from a full charge down to the automatic low-battery shutdown, then recharge to 100% without interruption. After that conditioning cycle the percentage display stabilises and tracks the actual cell state accurately.
