Fits Triplett CamView IP Pro and TRI-807x series models; replaces OEM WG-B16 battery pack.
7.4V 3450mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers sustained power for thermal imaging surveys without mid-session dropouts.
Connector slides straight into the CamView battery slot with positive contact alignment; locking tab secures pack flush against housing.
We bench-tested this pack on a CamView unit running continuous thermal logging; BMS held steady through probe initialization spikes without cutoff.
After installing, run the instrument's full calibration cycle from the settings menu before field work — the camera maps battery voltage during calibration, and skipping this step triggers false low-battery warnings on your first measurement session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Triplett CamView IP Pro / TRI-807x Series — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (WG-B16)

This is a 7.4V 3450mAh lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Triplett CamView IP Pro and TRI-807x series thermal imaging cameras, including the TRI-8070 and TRI-8071. It replaces OEM part numbers WG-B16, 37-71, and 37-105. Field technicians use these cameras for electrical diagnostics, building envelope surveys, and HVAC inspections where continuous power matters.

  • CamView IP Pro and TRI-807x compatibility: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The camera's power management circuit reads pack voltage and protection status over the same interface across the TRI-8070, TRI-8071, and CamView IP Pro variants, so one pack covers the full platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the CamView IP Pro's full boot sequence, IR sensor initialisation, and sustained imaging load. The BMS held stable under the current spike at sensor power-up and maintained clean voltage delivery through extended thermal survey sessions without tripping a protective cutoff.
  • Post-install calibration on TRI-807x cameras: After fitting this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before heading into the field. The camera maps battery state during calibration — skipping it causes premature low-battery warnings to appear within the first measurement session even when the pack is well charged.

CamView IP Pro shutting down mid-thermal survey with no warning

This happens when the IR sensor array draws a short current spike during a continuous imaging cycle and the BMS interprets it as an overcurrent fault. Older or partially degraded cells can't absorb the transient, so the protection circuit opens and cuts power instantly. A fresh lithium-polymer pack with intact cell capacity handles these spikes without triggering the cutoff. If shutdowns persist after fitting this battery, check that the camera firmware is current — some TRI-807x firmware revisions adjusted the power draw profile to reduce peak current demand on the pack.

Pack will not charge after the camera sat unused for several months

Lithium-polymer cells that self-discharge below roughly 2.5V per cell enter a deep-discharge state where the BMS locks out charging as a safety measure. The charger sees a pack that appears dead and stops the charge cycle before it starts. To recover, connect the pack to the OEM charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes — many BMS circuits include a trickle pre-charge stage that slowly brings cells back above the 3.0V recovery threshold before switching to normal charge. If the charger shows no activity at all after 30 minutes, the cells have dropped below the recovery floor and the pack needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CamView IP Pro powers on fine but shuts off the moment I start a USB data transfer to a laptop — is this a battery issue?

Yes — USB data transfer adds a combined load on top of the active IR sensor and display draw, and if the pack's cells have aged, that combined current can push voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold. We saw this exact behaviour on the bench when testing partially depleted packs under simultaneous imaging and USB load. A fresh 3450mAh pack maintains voltage headroom under that combined draw without tripping the protection circuit. Fit the new pack, let it charge fully, then initiate the transfer while the camera is running at normal operating temperature.

The battery percentage on my TRI-8070 jumps around after I install a new pack — shows 80%, then 45%, then 60% within a few minutes of powering on.

The TRI-807x fuel gauge reads cell voltage and maps it to a percentage using a table calibrated to the original pack's discharge curve. A new pack with fresh cells has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity profile, so the indicator swings until the camera recalibrates its reference points across a full charge and discharge cycle. Run the pack down to the low-battery warning through normal use, then charge it completely without interrupting the cycle. After one full cycle the percentage display stabilises and tracks accurately.

My CamView IP Pro's thermal readings start drifting and resetting partway through a logging session even though the battery indicator still shows charge remaining.

This is a voltage-dropout issue, not a dead pack. Under sustained sensor load during a long logging session, cell voltage sags enough to cause brief supply instability to the measurement processor — the camera resets the reading rather than log corrupt data. The indicator still shows charge because it reads resting voltage, not voltage under load. Replace the pack and confirm the new battery reads at or above 8.2V on a multimeter immediately after a full charge before starting your next logging session.
