Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 400 / 520 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This 3.7V 900mAh (3.33Wh) lithium-polymer cell replaces the internal battery in the Turtle Beach Ear Force, Ear Force Stealth 400, Stealth 500, and Stealth 520 wireless gaming headsets. The original cell degrades after repeated charge cycles, causing shortened use time or failure to hold charge. Swapping this cell restores full wireless audio function without replacing the entire headset.
- Stealth 400, 500, and 520 compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V battery rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. The cell dimensions — 48.70 x 30.80 x 5.90mm — match the internal cavity across the range, and the BMS voltage thresholds align with the headset's charge controller.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Stealth 400 charge controller and confirmed the BMS completed its handshake with the base station. Charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and the protection circuit responded to overdischarge cutoff as expected.
- First charge after installation: Seat the headset in the base station and run a full uninterrupted charge cycle before using it. The base station needs to log the new cell before the charge indicator gives an accurate reading — pulling it off the cradle early will cause the headset to report incorrect charge status.
Base station showing charging error after fitting a new cell
The Stealth series base station communicates with the headset's BMS before it begins a charge cycle. If the BMS hasn't completed its initialisation handshake — which happens on the first full charge — the base may flag an error or show no charge activity at all. This is not a fault with the cell. Seat the headset firmly in the cradle, wait for the charge LED to settle, and leave it undisturbed through the full first cycle. A solid charge indicator after that cycle confirms the handshake completed correctly.
Headset cutting out mid-session on a fresh battery
The Stealth headsets draw from the battery across two simultaneous loads — the wireless radio and the audio processing circuit. Under combined draw, a cell sitting near its low-voltage threshold can sag below the BMS cutoff point and trigger a shutdown even when the charge indicator still shows remaining capacity. If cutouts happen early in a session, the cell likely shipped at storage voltage around 3.7–3.8V. Run one full charge cycle first. If cutouts continue after a full charge, reseat the connector and confirm contact is flush — an intermittent connection will cause the same symptom under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Turtle Beach Stealth 520 base shows a full charge but the headset cuts off after just a short time — why?
The cell shipped at storage voltage, typically around 3.7V, which the base station can misread as a charged state. The charge indicator isn't accurate until the new cell has completed at least one full uninterrupted charge cycle in the base. Seat the headset in the cradle and leave it through a complete charge without interruption. After that first full cycle, the base will read cell state correctly.
Talk time is noticeably short for the first few sessions after fitting this battery — is the cell faulty?
It isn't faulty. Lithium-polymer cells deliver below-rated capacity for the first three to five charge cycles while the electrochemical structure stabilises. We measured a consistent capacity increase across the first few cycles on the bench before the cell reached its rated 900mAh output. Run three to five full charge-and-use cycles and available capacity will improve each time.
The headset feels warm near the battery during long gaming sessions — is that a problem?
The Stealth housing is compact, and the battery sits close to both the wireless radio and audio circuitry. Under sustained combined draw, surface warmth is normal. It becomes a concern if the headset is hot to the touch or if the base station stops accepting a charge — that points to the BMS tripping a thermal protection threshold. If the headset is only warm, not hot, continue use and ensure the base station's ventilation slots aren't blocked during charging.
