Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

UBEE U10C022 / DVW3201 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 10.8V 3400mAh Li-ion battery is the backup power cell for UBEE cable modems including the U10C022, U10C017, and DVW3201. When AC power drops, the modem draws from this battery to keep your internet and VoIP line active. It replaces the original internal cell that degrades after repeated charge cycles.
- U10C022, U10C017, and DVW3201 compatibility: These three UBEE units share the same 10.8V backup battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the modem firmware recognises cell state through the same charge controller across all three models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the UBEE charge controller and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes. The protection circuit held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and resumed charge normally.
- First-install charge protocol: After fitting the battery, leave the modem on AC power for at least 4 hours before any outage test. UBEE firmware will not route backup power through a cell it hasn't completed a charge cycle on — running a test before that window causes a false failure reading.
Battery self-test failing after a fresh swap
UBEE modems run an automatic self-test shortly after detecting a new battery. If the cell hasn't reached a full charge state, the firmware logs a test failure and may flag a battery fault LED. This isn't a defective cell — it's the firmware rejecting an incomplete charge. Allow 4 hours on AC power, then let the modem run its next scheduled self-test cycle. The fault clears once the battery holds above 12.4V at rest.
Internet stays up during an outage but VoIP calls drop immediately
Data traffic runs on lower sustained current than VoIP. During a power outage, the modem prioritises packet routing, but an ageing or partially charged battery can't sustain the power draw that voice calls require. The battery voltage sags under VoIP load and the modem's voice module drops first. Confirm the battery has completed a full charge cycle and check that resting voltage sits at 12.4V or above before assuming the cell is faulty.

Frequently Asked Questions
My UBEE modem is showing a battery error light after I installed the new battery — is something wrong?
This is normal behaviour for the first 24 hours after a new cell is fitted. The UBEE firmware runs a charge-state verification before it accepts a new battery as ready for backup duty — until that check passes, the error LED stays on. Leave the modem connected to AC power for at least 4 hours without interruption. The indicator should clear once the firmware completes its acceptance cycle and the cell reaches a stable charge state.
The modem charged the battery but VoIP still cuts out the moment power drops — data keeps working fine.
VoIP requires sustained higher current than a basic data connection. If the battery voltage sags under that load, the modem's voice module shuts down while the lower-draw data side stays alive. Check that the battery has completed at least one full charge cycle — 4 hours on AC from a depleted state. If resting voltage reads below 12.4V after a full charge, the cell may not have been accepted by the charge controller properly; disconnect and reconnect the battery to trigger a fresh charge sequence.
My modem shows the battery as fully charged but it doesn't hold during a real outage — it cuts off almost immediately.
A "fully charged" status from the modem firmware only means the charge controller has stopped pushing current — it doesn't verify how much energy the cell actually holds. If the battery wasn't given enough time to complete its initial charge cycle before the first outage, it may have been accepted at a partial state of charge. Run the modem on AC power for a full 4-hour uninterrupted charge, then let it sit idle. Retest during a controlled outage by manually pulling the AC plug — resting voltage before that test should read at least 12.4V.
