Fits Vertex Standard VX-351, VX-354, and VX-359 radios; replaces OEM FNB-V130LI and FNB-V130LI-UNI batteries.
7.4V and 2600mAh capacity maintains full transmit power output across your shift without voltage sag.
Connector slides straight into the radio slot with a positive locking tab that seats flush when fully inserted.
We bench tested this pack on a VX-351 under sustained PTT cycles; the BMS accepted dock voltage immediately and held steady discharge curve.
If your Vertex charger dock shows a fault LED after inserting this battery, remove it, wipe the gold contact strip on the pack with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly — Vertex platforms need clean contact cycles to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vertex Standard VX-351 / VX-354 / VX-359 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (FNB-V130LI)

This 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion pack replaces the FNB-V130LI in the Vertex Standard VX-351, VX-354, and VX-359 portable two-way radios. These radios are common across security, emergency services, and professional comms teams. Capacity is 2600mAh (19.24Wh) — use that figure for any duty-cycle planning, not third-party estimates.

  • VX-351 / VX-354 / VX-359 platform fit: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, contact pin layout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers the range without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the Vertex Standard charger dock and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly — charge LED transitions from red to green without fault interruption, and the overcurrent circuit holds under simulated PTT transmit load.
  • First insertion on the VX-series dock: If the dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The VX-series dock requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS before charging begins — this is a contact issue, not a faulty cell.

Why the VX-351 cuts out mid-transmission on a new FNB-V130LI

PTT transmit on the VX-351 draws a short current spike — typically 1.5–2A — as the RF stage fires up. A new pack shipped at storage voltage (around 3.7V per cell) has higher internal impedance than a fully charged cell. That impedance causes a momentary voltage sag, which can trip the BMS overcurrent threshold before the cell reaches operating charge. Charge the pack fully before first use — the dock needs to see the cell above 7.0V total to hold the charge cycle open.

Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after fitting the FNB-V130LI

The VX-series bar indicator reads voltage thresholds directly — it does not track charge state through a counting chip. A new cell at storage voltage sits below the top threshold, so the radio displays one bar fewer than full even with a brand-new pack installed. This is not a capacity fault. Run a full charge cycle through the Vertex Standard dock and let the cell reach 8.4V before drawing conclusions — the indicator will step up to the correct bar level once voltage is there.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VX-351 drops to low transmit power halfway through a shift — is the new FNB-V130LI pack failing?

This is voltage sag under sustained RF output, not a failing cell. As the pack discharges past roughly 7.0V under load, the radio's power control circuit steps down TX output to protect the final RF stage. It is working as intended. To extend the high-power window across a shift, avoid back-to-back long transmissions — give the pack two to three seconds between PTT presses to let cell voltage recover.

The charger dock fault LED never clears after I insert the new battery — it just keeps blinking.

A blinking fault LED that never clears usually means the dock is reading the pack as below its acceptance voltage threshold — common when a cell has been sitting at storage voltage for months. Remove the pack, leave it out for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly after wiping the gold contacts dry. If the fault LED persists, try a different dock if one is available; some VX-series docks will not attempt a recovery charge below 6.0V and need the pack pre-warmed to that floor first.

The radio powers on fine but cuts out completely the moment I press PTT — what's causing it?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by the transmit current spike, not a radio fault. The PTT event draws a sharp 1.5–2A burst; if the cell is at storage voltage, internal impedance is high enough that the resulting voltage drop crosses the BMS cutoff threshold instantly. The fix is straightforward — charge the pack fully before first use. Once the cell is at 8.4V, impedance drops and the BMS holds the circuit closed through the transmit surge.
