Fits Vorwerk VX100 cordless vacuum; replaces OEM battery pack for handheld operation.
7.2V, 3500mAh Ni-MH delivers consistent voltage to motor during full cleaning cycles without stepdown.
Battery slides into handheld grip slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush against housing.
We bench tested this pack on full suction load — BMS passed voltage stability without cutout during motor ramp.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously; Ni-MH packs fade rapidly under trickle charge and lose capacity within weeks.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vorwerk VX100 — 7.2V Ni-MH 3500mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 7.2V, 3500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Vorwerk VX100 cordless vacuum cleaner. It fits both the VX100 and VX100 Saugroboter variants. When the original pack degrades and suction shortens noticeably, this cell restores the vacuum to full operating voltage.

  • VX100 and VX100 Saugroboter compatibility: Both models run the same 7.2V Ni-MH cell architecture and share an identical battery bay and connector configuration. One replacement covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through load testing at the VX100's rated draw. The cells held voltage above the BMS low-threshold cutoff through full discharge cycles, and the BMS handshake with the charger initialised cleanly on first connection.
  • Dock charging habit on the VX100: Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums degrade faster under continuous trickle charge than Li-ion. Charge the VX100 to full, then remove it from the dock. Leaving it permanently docked compresses cell capacity over weeks, not years.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells show voltage sag under load before the pack is actually depleted. The VX100's motor draws higher current when the filter is partially blocked, pulling cell voltage down faster than the indicator registers. The vacuum interprets this as reduced available power and the motor backs off, cutting suction. Clean or replace the filter first — if sag continues on a clean filter, the cell pack has lost enough internal resistance tolerance that replacement is the correct fix.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty motor. When the VX100 runs on a heavily blocked filter or a full dustbin, airflow restriction forces the motor to sustain a higher-than-rated draw. The BMS cuts power to protect the cells, then resets once current demand drops. Clear the dustbin and check the filter before suspecting the battery. If trips continue on a clean, empty vacuum, verify cell voltage under load — a healthy pack should hold above 6.5V at the VX100's rated draw.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vorwerk VX100 seems to lose suction halfway through a clean but the battery light still shows full — what's happening?

This is voltage sag, not a dead battery. Ni-MH cells drop voltage under sustained motor load before the indicator catches up, so the light lags behind actual cell output. A partially blocked filter makes it worse by forcing the motor to draw more current than rated. Clean the filter and empty the dustbin — if sag continues on a clean machine, the cell pack has degraded and needs replacing.

The VX100 motor cuts out for a few seconds then comes back on its own — is that the battery failing?

That's the BMS tripping on overcurrent, not a mechanical fault. Restricted airflow from a full dustbin or clogged filter pushes motor draw past what the BMS allows, so it shuts power momentarily and resets. Empty the bin and check the filter before assuming the battery is at fault. If trips still happen on a clean, empty vacuum, check cell voltage under load — it should hold above 6.5V during operation.

I replaced the VX100 battery but now it won't charge — the charger just sits there doing nothing.

Ni-MH chargers on the VX100 expect the pack voltage to sit within a specific window before initiating a charge cycle. If the replacement cells arrive deeply discharged, the charger may not recognise the pack as valid. Connect the battery and wait up to 10 minutes — some chargers apply a trickle pre-charge before switching to full charge mode. If there is still no response, measure pack voltage at the terminals; it should read at least 5.5V for the charger to handshake correctly.
