Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Voxtel M405 — 3.7V Li-ion 1000mAh Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-ion cell for the Voxtel M405 mobile phone. It fits directly into the M405 battery bay and restores power to a phone whose original cell has degraded through repeated charge cycles. Capacity is 3.7Wh — identical to the factory specification.
- M405 compatibility: The M405 uses a compact single-cell Li-ion pack at 3.7V nominal. This replacement matches that voltage rail and the physical dimensions (46.89 × 44.00 × 5.37mm), so the connector seats correctly and the BMS communicates with the phone's charge IC without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS engages charge cutoff at 4.2V and holds low-voltage protection at the correct floor. The cell accepted a standard charge profile without thermal anomalies.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge mode and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. The M405's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle lets it map the new cell's actual capacity before reporting percentages accurately.
Why the M405 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The M405 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its capacity model from previous discharge cycles. When you install a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship. The phone reads voltage and translates it to a percentage using the old map — so it can show 40% when the cell is nearly flat, or jump from 70% to 15% without warning. One complete discharge below 5% followed by a full charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and lets the IC re-learn the new cell's curve.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — the modem transmitting or the screen at full brightness draws enough current to drag voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. A fresh cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC makes this worse, because the gauge hasn't yet learned where the voltage cliff sits on this specific cell. Run one full calibration cycle first. If shutdowns continue after calibration, check that the battery contacts in the M405 bay are clean and making firm contact — a resistive connection causes the same voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Voxtel M405 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Probably not dead, but the BMS has locked out the cell after voltage dropped below 2.5V during storage. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release its protection circuit. If the charging indicator doesn't appear within 30 minutes, try a different cable and confirm the charger outputs at least 5V/500mA.
The M405 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges with the new cell — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during initial charging than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC pushes current into higher internal resistance, which dissipates as heat. This typically settles after three to five full charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — or if the back swells at any point, stop charging immediately and inspect the cell seating in the bay.
After fitting the new battery, fast charging isn't working — the phone charges slowly even on the same charger that worked before.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC in the M405 sometimes defaults to a conservative constant-current profile until it has completed one full charge cycle with the new cell. This is the IC protecting an uncalibrated cell from receiving high-current charge before its state-of-charge is known. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then discharge normally to below 10% — fast charge should negotiate correctly on the following cycle.
