Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

XTOOL A80 Pro / A80 H6 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AHB9858102P)

This is a 3.8V, 10000mAh (38Wh) lithium-polymer battery for the XTOOL A80 Pro Full System Car Scan Tools and A80 H6 diagnostic scanners. It replaces OEM part AHB9858102P directly. Fit this when the original cell no longer holds charge or the device shuts down mid-scan.

  • A80 Pro and A80 H6 compatibility: Both models run the same 3.8V power rail and use the same BMS handshake protocol, so they share this cell. The connector and PCB contact layout are identical across both variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the A80 platform. The BMS passed charge acceptance, balanced cell voltage within spec, and the scanner completed a full system scan without a low-voltage cutoff event.
  • Data export before swap: Vehicle profiles and saved fault-code histories on the A80 Pro are held in RAM backed by the main battery. Pull a full data export to USB or the XTOOL cloud before disconnecting the old cell — not after.

Why the A80 Pro screen dims before the battery indicator shows low

The A80 Pro display driver pulls from the same battery rail as the processor, but the display controller has a slightly higher minimum operating voltage than the CPU. When the cell voltage dips under load — typically during a multi-system scan — the screen dims first, even though the battery gauge still reads 20–30%. This is a voltage-sag symptom, not a screen fault. A degraded original cell with high internal resistance will trigger this at higher state-of-charge than a fresh cell. Replacing the battery eliminates the sag that causes it.

Scanner won't boot after battery replacement

If the A80 Pro shows no response after fitting a new cell, the most common cause is that the replacement battery shipped below the BMS boot threshold — typically under 3.4V per cell. The BMS locks out the device as a protection state, and the scanner will not initialise even with the power button held. Connect the OEM charger and leave it for at least 20 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.6V, the BMS releases the lockout and the scanner boots normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My A80 Pro powers on after the battery swap but loses all saved vehicle profiles — where did they go?

Vehicle profiles on the A80 Pro are stored in RAM that the main battery keeps powered. When you disconnected the old cell, that RAM lost power and the data cleared. There is no recovery path once the swap is done. Before any future battery work, go to Settings → Data Management and export your profiles to USB or the XTOOL cloud account.

The A80 Pro WiFi or Bluetooth drops mid-scan — could the new battery be the cause?

Yes. The wireless radio on the A80 Pro is one of the highest-draw subsystems on the 3.8V rail. If the replacement cell has a high internal resistance or wasn't fully charged before first use, voltage sag under combined CPU and radio load can cause the wireless stack to drop its connection. Charge the battery to 100% before your first diagnostic session and check that cell voltage under load stays above 3.6V.

The A80 Pro shows a charging indicator but the battery percentage doesn't climb after several hours — what's wrong?

This usually means the cell arrived deep-discharged and the BMS entered trickle-charge mode to recover it safely. In trickle mode, current is reduced to around 5–10% of normal charge rate, so the percentage gauge moves very slowly or appears stuck. Leave the scanner on charge undisturbed for two to three hours. Once the cell reaches roughly 3.5V per cell, the BMS switches to normal CC/CV charging and the percentage will begin rising at the expected rate.
