Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE E700 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (F73001A)

This is a 3.8V, 4000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the ZTE E700 two-way radio. It carries OEM part number F73001A and fits directly into the E700 used in security, logistics, and emergency services roles. Capacity figure is taken from product data at 15.2Wh.

  • ZTE E700 platform fit: The E700 runs a single-cell Li-Polymer pack on a 3.8V rail. This replacement matches that rail voltage and uses the same connector footprint and BMS communication profile the dock expects on insertion.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the pack through charge acceptance and a transmit-cycle load sequence. The BMS held the overcurrent threshold correctly under PTT spike loads and returned to standby without tripping lockout.
  • First insertion into the ZTE dock: If the dock shows a fault LED on first seating, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The E700 dock requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before it begins charging.

Why the ZTE E700 cuts out mid-transmission on a new F73001A pack

A new Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage — typically 3.6V to 3.65V, not full charge. When you press PTT, transmit current spikes sharply and the BMS reads that draw against a low starting voltage. If the pack hasn't had a full charge cycle first, the BMS may trip its overcurrent threshold and cut the radio mid-transmission. Seat the pack in the dock and complete one uninterrupted charge to 4.35V before putting the radio into active use.

E700 bar indicator shows one fewer bar than expected after pack swap

The E700 uses a voltage-threshold bar indicator, not a fuel gauge chip. A new pack at storage voltage sits below the top threshold, so the radio displays one bar fewer than a fully charged cell would. This is not a fault with the pack. Charge the battery fully and the indicator will step up to its correct reading. After a full charge the resting voltage should sit at or above 4.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ZTE E700 cuts out when I press PTT but the battery looks fully seated — what's happening?

Pressing PTT draws a sharp current spike and a new pack at storage voltage can push the BMS into overcurrent protection, cutting the radio instantly. This is not a dock or radio fault. Place the F73001A in the charger and complete one full charge cycle before transmitting. After a full charge to 4.35V the BMS handles PTT spikes without tripping.

The ZTE E700 dock is flashing a fault LED and won't start charging the new F73001A — how do I clear it?

The dock reads a BMS handshake through the gold contact strip on insertion. If those contacts are even slightly dirty or the pack isn't fully seated, the dock rejects the pack and shows a fault LED. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contacts with a dry cloth, press the pack firmly into the dock until it clicks, and wait 30 seconds. The fault LED should clear and charging should begin.

The ZTE E700 drops to reduced TX power after a few hours into a shift — is the battery failing?

Voltage sag under sustained RF output is the cause. When cell voltage drops toward the lower discharge threshold, the radio's power management steps down transmit power to protect the pack. A pack that sags early may have elevated internal impedance from age or deep-discharge history. Check resting voltage after a full charge — it should read 4.2V or higher. If it reads below 4.0V at rest after a full charge cycle, the cell is no longer holding capacity and the pack needs replacing.
