Fits AP Agri-Alert 800EZK alarm system, replaces OEM part number 23090433.
8.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers sustained backup power for wireless alert detection and siren activation.
Connector seats into the battery compartment with positive and negative terminals in fixed alignment; no locking tab.
We bench-tested the cell on float charge overnight—BMS accepted the new pack without fault codes or voltage drift.
Allow 24 to 48 hours on float charge before running any zone test; the alarm panel needs this settling window before accepting the backup cell as fully conditioned.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AP Agri-Alert 800EZK — 8.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (23090433)

This is an 8.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the AP Agri-Alert 800EZK agricultural alarm system. It replaces OEM part 23090433 and fits the Agri-Alert 800EZK and Agri-Alert 800EZK Alarm System. The Agri-Alert 800EZK monitors farm perimeters and detects intrusions — this battery is its backup power source.

  • Agri-Alert 800EZK platform fit: The 800EZK series uses a fixed 8.4V Ni-MH cell with a specific connector and BMS handshake. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector pin-out, so the panel recognises the cell and accepts the charge cycle without throwing a tamper or fault code.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge acceptance and discharge verification on the 800EZK platform. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, float charge commenced without fault codes, and discharge curves held consistent across the full 2000mAh rated capacity.
  • Post-install float charge requirement: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. The 800EZK panel needs 24 to 48 hours on float charge before its BMS reports accurate battery status. Testing too early will trigger a false low-battery fault on the panel display.

Alarm panel losing saved programming during a power outage after battery swap

The 800EZK panel stores zone programming in memory that relies on backup battery voltage staying above a minimum threshold during mains failure. A freshly installed Ni-MH cell that has not yet completed a full conditioning cycle may sit below that threshold — typically around 7.8V — when mains power drops. The panel then treats the backup as absent and resets to factory defaults to protect itself. Fit the new cell, restore mains power, and allow 48 hours of uninterrupted charging before testing the backup function.

Panel showing low battery fault within hours of fitting a new cell

This is a BMS reporting delay issue, not a faulty cell. The 800EZK panel samples battery voltage during and just after installation, when a new Ni-MH cell has not yet reached full float charge. It reads a suppressed open-circuit voltage — often 7.9V to 8.1V — and logs a low-battery event. Leave the panel on mains power for 24 to 48 hours. After a full float cycle, the cell stabilises at or above 8.4V and the fault clears on the next panel self-test.

Frequently Asked Questions

The siren didn't sound during our test alarm straight after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The 800EZK holds siren output for a short stabilisation window after a new battery is connected — typically 30 to 60 seconds — while the BMS settles. If the test was triggered inside that window, the siren won't fire. Wait at least two minutes after installation before running a test, and confirm mains power is live so the panel isn't drawing from the new cell before it has charged.

The 800EZK panel is showing a tamper fault right after I replaced the battery — what causes that?

A tamper fault after a battery swap almost always means the battery compartment lid or outer housing panel was not fully seated when closed. The 800EZK uses a physical tamper switch on the cover; if it isn't flush and fully latched, the panel reads it as an open tamper contact and logs the fault. Open the housing, press the cover firmly until it clicks into the latch, and re-arm the panel — the tamper fault should clear within one self-test cycle.

The panel keeps losing its programmed zones every time mains power goes out, even with the new battery fitted — why?

The panel's memory retention during a power outage depends on the backup cell holding above roughly 7.8V. A new Ni-MH cell that hasn't completed a full conditioning cycle can sit below that level under even a brief load. The fix is to let the panel run on mains for a full 48 hours after fitting the new cell before the backup function is reliable. After that conditioning period, the cell should sustain the panel through a mains outage without resetting programming.
