Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Atral Logisty — 12V 2000mAh Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This 12V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the backup cell in the Atral Logisty security alarm system. It restores standby power to the control panel, keeping the alarm active during mains outages. Dimensions are 72.15 × 51.50 × 31.10mm — measure your existing cell before ordering to confirm fitment.
- Logisty panel compatibility: The Logisty control panel runs a 12V backup rail with a dedicated charge management circuit. This cell matches that voltage requirement and uses the same Ni-MH chemistry the panel charger expects. Swapping chemistry — for example, fitting a Li-ion cell — will cause incorrect charge voltage and may damage the panel.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge acceptance and float stabilisation on the bench. The BMS reached float within the expected window, and the cell held voltage without drop across a 48-hour monitoring period.
- Post-installation panel reset: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. The Logisty panel checks battery state during diagnostics, and a freshly installed Ni-MH cell will read low until it completes its first full float charge — allow 24 to 48 hours on mains power before triggering any test sequence.
Alarm panel losing programming during a mains outage after battery swap
If the Logisty panel loses its zone configuration or user codes during a power cut shortly after fitting a new battery, the cell has not yet been accepted into float charge. Ni-MH cells require a conditioning period before they can deliver the sustained current the panel needs to hold memory during mains failure. Installing the battery and immediately cutting mains power to test it will replicate this fault every time. Leave the panel on mains for a minimum of 48 hours before testing backup operation.
Panel showing tamper fault immediately after battery replacement
A tamper fault appearing straight after a battery swap almost always means the panel enclosure lid or battery compartment cover was not fully closed and latched. The Logisty panel monitors cover contacts as part of its tamper loop — any gap breaks the circuit and logs the fault. Check that the lid clicks fully home and that no wiring has been pinched in the hinge or frame. Once the cover is properly seated, the tamper fault should clear within one poll cycle without a full panel reset.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Logisty panel still shows a low battery warning 2 hours after I fitted the new cell — did I get a faulty battery?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The Logisty panel reads battery state continuously, and a freshly installed Ni-MH cell starts well below full charge voltage — the panel will report low battery until the built-in charger brings it up to float. This process takes 24 to 48 hours on mains power. Leave the panel connected to mains and check the status again after 48 hours; the warning should clear on its own.
The siren didn't sound when I ran a test straight after replacing the backup battery — is the new cell too weak to trigger it?
The cell capacity is not the issue here. The Logisty panel imposes a stabilisation delay on siren output when it detects a recently installed or low-state battery — this is a built-in protection to prevent a partial-charge cell from being immediately drained by a full siren cycle. Wait until the panel has completed its 24 to 48 hour float charge period, then run the test again. If the siren still fails to sound after that window, check the siren wiring connections at the panel terminals.
The Logisty panel lost all my zone settings during a power cut two days after I replaced the battery — what went wrong?
Two days may not have been enough. Ni-MH cells need the full 48-hour float charge period before they can reliably sustain panel memory current during a mains outage — if the outage happened at hour 40, the cell may not have been at sufficient capacity. Confirm the panel has been on mains continuously since the swap with no interruptions. If programming is lost again after a verified 48-hour charge, check the battery connector seating and confirm terminal voltage reads at or above 13.0V with a multimeter before the next mains test.
