Fits Daitem 318-16D alarm panel backup function; replaces OEM part BATNIMH2.
12V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell maintains control panel operation during mains power loss.
Connector slides straight into battery slot with positive terminal facing upward; locking tab secures pack flush against housing.
We bench-tested against the 318-16D BMS; cell accepted charge without fault codes and held float voltage stable after 48 hours.
Do not run a zone test or siren diagnostic until 48 hours after installation — the panel's charge monitor requires full float conditioning before reporting accurate battery status.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Daitem 318-16D Series — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BATNIMH2)

This is a 12V 2000mAh Ni-MH backup battery for the Daitem 318-16D alarm system control panel and compatible models including the S318-22F, ES318-22F, and S320-22F. It replaces OEM part BATNIMH2 (also cross-referenced as C0106.0003). When mains power drops, this battery keeps the panel and siren circuit live.

  • Compatible panel range: The 318-16D, S318-22F, ES318-22F, and S320-22F share the same 12V backup rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake. A single cell spec covers all these panels because the charge controller circuit is identical across the series.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Daitem panel charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the battery without faults. Float charge voltage stabilised as expected, and the panel cleared its battery fault flag after the conditioning window.
  • Post-installation charge window: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge first. Running diagnostics on an uncharged cell can cause the panel to log a low battery fault that persists even after the cell reaches full charge.

Alarm panel showing low battery hours after installing new cell

Daitem panels monitor backup voltage continuously. A fresh Ni-MH cell ships partially discharged, so the panel sees a low voltage reading and flags it immediately. This is not a fault with the battery — it is the panel responding accurately to a cell that has not yet reached float charge. The panel will clear the fault on its own once the cell climbs above the low-battery threshold, typically after 24–48 hours on mains power. Do not replace the cell again — leave it connected and allow the charge cycle to complete.

Alarm losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement

If the panel loses zone or user settings during a mains outage shortly after a battery swap, the new cell has not yet been accepted by the charge controller. Ni-MH cells require a full conditioning cycle before the panel draws on them under load. A cell that has only been on float charge for a few hours may drop below the panel's minimum sustain voltage the moment mains power cuts. Restore mains, allow a full 48-hour charge period before the next outage or test, and verify the panel holds settings through a brief mains interruption.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Daitem panel is showing a tamper fault right after I swapped the backup battery — what did I go wrong?

The tamper fault almost always means the panel cover or battery compartment lid is not fully closed after the cell swap. Daitem panels use a tamper switch on the enclosure; even a slightly misaligned lid breaks the circuit and logs a tamper alert. Re-open the panel, reseat the battery connectors, and press the cover firmly until it clicks. The fault should clear within seconds of the enclosure closing properly.

The siren didn't trigger during a walk-test I ran straight after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The siren not sounding on an immediate post-installation test is a known behaviour, not a cell fault. Daitem panels impose a short stabilisation delay on the backup circuit after a new battery is connected, and a siren trigger during this window may be suppressed. Wait at least 30–60 minutes after fitting and connecting the cell before running any siren test. If the siren still fails to trigger after that delay, check that the battery connector is fully seated and the panel shows no low-battery flag.

The new battery seems fine on the bench but the panel keeps cycling between "low battery" and normal status — what's causing that?

This cycling pattern points to a cell that is borderline on voltage — charging up past the panel's low-battery threshold, then sagging back below it under the panel's standby draw. It can happen if the cell has a high internal resistance caused by storage at low charge for an extended period. Leave the panel on mains for a full 48-hour conditioning charge without interruption. If the cycling stops after that window, the cell has recovered; if it continues, measure resting voltage — a healthy 12V Ni-MH pack should hold above 12.0V at rest.
