Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aeonmed Solo Ventilator — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (B0402091)
This is a 12V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Aeonmed Solo and Solo Ventilator portable oxygen concentrators. It replaces OEM part number B0402091 and restores mobile power capability to the unit. Capacity is rated at 24Wh, matching the original specification.
- Solo and Solo Ventilator compatibility: Both models share the same 12V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one replacement covers either unit. The BMS on each reads cell chemistry and voltage to confirm a valid pack before enabling the oxygen delivery circuit.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the Solo's BMS initialisation sequence and confirmed the charge IC recognised the Ni-MH chemistry correctly. The protection circuit held cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold without triggering a false fault.
- Post-installation self-test cycle: After fitting this battery, let the Solo complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The device runs a BMS verification pass at startup — cutting power during this sequence locks in a battery fault flag that won't clear until the next clean reboot from full charge.
Why the Solo's BMS may not accept a new Ni-MH cell immediately
Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state to reduce shelf degradation. The Solo's BMS cross-checks cell voltage against an internal acceptance window calibrated to a conditioned pack. A new cell sitting below that window — typically under 10.8V resting — can trigger a battery fault or cause the device to refuse to run on battery at all. One full charge-discharge cycle raises the resting voltage into the accepted range and allows the BMS to update its capacity estimate. Do not attempt to use this battery in a clinical setting before completing that first cycle.
Charge indicator stalling below 100% on first charge
On first charge, the Solo's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new or cold Ni-MH cell — the indicator may stall at 80–90% and appear stuck. This is the IC holding a trickle charge while it confirms the cell isn't absorbing above the thermal threshold. The cycle completes normally; it just takes longer than subsequent charges. If the indicator has not moved for more than two hours, remove the battery, allow it to rest for 10 minutes, then reinsert and restart the charge from 12.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Solo is alarming low battery straight after I charged this replacement — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The Solo's BMS sets its low-battery alarm threshold against a conditioned cell profile, and a new Ni-MH pack often reads below that threshold on the first cycle even after a full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before trusting the alarm readings. After that cycle, the BMS updates its reference and the alarm clears at the correct state of charge.
The Solo will not power on at all after the replacement battery sat in the box for a few months — what happened?
Ni-MH cells self-discharge in storage, and if the pack dropped below approximately 10.0V the Solo's BMS will refuse to activate the battery circuit as a protection measure. Connect the device to mains power first — this bypasses the battery circuit and allows the charge IC to begin a recovery charge. Once the cell climbs above 10.8V the BMS re-enables battery mode and the unit will power on normally from battery.
The Solo shuts off unexpectedly during use even though the battery shows a good charge level — what is causing this?
New Ni-MH cells have not yet stabilised their internal resistance, so the first 10 cycles see higher voltage sag under the load of the oxygen delivery motor. That sag can briefly pull the pack below the BMS cutoff threshold even when the state-of-charge indicator looks healthy. The device shuts off as a protection response, not because the battery is empty. Complete 10 full charge-discharge cycles on mains-available sessions before relying on battery-only operation; internal resistance drops significantly after conditioning and the sag narrows to within normal operating range.
