Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bionet Oximete OXY9 Wave — 3.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SCR18650F22-012PTC)
This is a 3.6V, 5200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Bionet Oximete OXY9 Wave pulse oximeter. It fits the OXY9 Wave directly, restoring power to the device used for blood oxygen saturation monitoring in clinical and home healthcare settings. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification listed under part number SCR18650F22-012PTC.
- OXY9 Wave platform fit: The OXY9 Wave uses a single-cell 3.6V Li-ion configuration with a BMS that handshakes on voltage and temperature data at startup. This cell matches both the electrical and physical envelope the device expects — same connector orientation, same 18650-format housing.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran a full charge-discharge cycle on the OXY9 Wave with this cell installed. The BMS completed its initialisation sequence, accepted the charge without flagging a chemistry mismatch, and held voltage stable across the oximeter's SpO2 sampling load.
- Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this cell, allow the OXY9 Wave to complete its power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power during this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until a full reboot clears it.
Device not completing boot sequence after battery swap
The OXY9 Wave runs a multi-stage power-on check that includes a BMS learn step. A new cell arriving from storage may sit at 3.5V or lower — enough to start boot, but below the threshold the device needs to pass its internal verification. The BMS will halt the sequence and flag a low-battery error even though the cell is not depleted. Charge the replacement fully before first installation, then let the boot sequence complete without cycling power.
Charge indicator stalling below 100% on first charge
On the first charge cycle with a new cell, the OXY9 Wave's charge IC applies a conservative current ceiling while it profiles the cell's internal resistance. This is normal behaviour — the indicator can stall at 90–95% for an extended period before the final topping phase begins. Do not interrupt the charge. Let the device complete the full cycle; subsequent charges will reach 100% faster once the IC has profiled the cell. Target a resting voltage of 4.1–4.2V at full charge before clinical use.

Frequently Asked Questions
The OXY9 Wave is alarming low battery immediately after I installed and charged the new cell — what's happening?
The OXY9 Wave's BMS uses a stored charge profile from the previous cell to set its low-battery threshold. A new cell hasn't completed a learn cycle yet, so the BMS can misread state-of-charge and trigger the alarm even at full voltage. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle without interrupting the device. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates its threshold to the new cell and the false alarm clears.
The device won't power on at all after the replacement cell sat in storage for a few months — is the battery dead?
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the OXY9 Wave's cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters a protection lockout and blocks power output entirely. Place the battery in a compatible charger and apply a slow pre-charge at 0.1C until voltage recovers above 3.0V — the BMS will then re-initialise and allow normal charging. Do not attempt to power the device until the cell reads at least 3.2V at rest.
The OXY9 Wave is shutting off unexpectedly during patient monitoring after the battery swap — is this a faulty cell?
New cells have higher internal resistance in the first 10 charge-discharge cycles, which causes voltage to sag under the oximeter's sampling load. If the sag crosses the BMS undervoltage cutoff, the device shuts off to protect the cell — even if the displayed charge level looks adequate. This is not a faulty cell. Run five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell, then recheck. If shutdowns stop after conditioning, the cell is functioning correctly.
