This is a 10.8V 5200mAh (56.16Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Mekics MTV 1000 medical monitoring device. It replaces OEM part SDI1865E and uses the same 18650-cell configuration as the factory pack. Voltage, connector, and BMS communication lines match the original specification.

  • MTV 1000 platform fit: The MTV 1000 runs a single 10.8V rail shared across the display, processor, and sensor subsystems. Any replacement pack must match that rail exactly — undervoltage causes the device to log a battery fault and halt the boot sequence before reaching the clinical interface.

Device will not power on after the battery has been in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and the MTV 1000 BMS enforces a minimum recovery voltage before it allows the power rail to come up. If the cell voltage has dropped below approximately 9.0V across the pack, the BMS blocks startup entirely — the device appears completely dead. Connect the charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the BMS detects voltage above its recovery threshold, normal charging resumes and the device will boot.

It is not faulty. The MTV 1000 BMS compares incoming cell data against a stored OEM chemistry profile, and a new cell's internal resistance sits outside that reference on the first cycle. The device flags this as a low or invalid battery even at full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the BMS will update its threshold values — the alarm clears on the next boot.

The MTV 1000 self-test fails every time after swapping to the new battery — what is causing this?

The self-test failure is a BMS learn-cycle issue, not a hardware fault. The device runs a battery verification step at startup and requires at least one full charge-discharge cycle before it accepts a new cell's data as valid. Do not place the device into clinical use until that first cycle is complete. After one full cycle, the self-test should pass consistently.

The MTV 1000 is shutting off unexpectedly during use, but the battery indicator showed adequate charge before it cut out.

New Li-ion cells deliver higher internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles, which causes a sharper voltage sag under the MTV 1000's combined sensor and display load.
