Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ALBA D31H — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the ALBA D31H digital camera. It slots into the same battery compartment as the original NP-60 series cell. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly.

  • NP-60 series fit: The D31H uses the NP-60 form factor — same contact layout, same voltage rail, same physical footprint as the original cell. No adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on bench equipment. The BMS held cutoff correctly at the low-voltage threshold, and charge acceptance was consistent across multiple cycles.
  • First-use charge cycle: On first install, run one full charge through the OEM charger or the camera body before shooting. Some camera BMS systems need a complete charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining display accurately with a new cell.

Dead battery indicator showing on a partially charged replacement cell

The D31H maps its battery indicator to a voltage-threshold curve calibrated against the original cell's discharge profile. A new third-party cell can sit at a slightly different resting voltage at the same state of charge. The camera reads that offset as a lower charge than is actually present, triggering the low-battery icon early. One full charge cycle inside the camera body usually resolves the mismatch and lets the BMS recalibrate its read points.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the D31H display

This happens when the camera's indicator logic is mapping voltage steps from the new cell's discharge curve to percentage brackets set for the original cell. The voltage doesn't drop linearly, so the display skips or jumps between values. It's a display calibration issue, not a fault with the cell itself. Charge the battery to 100% via the camera body, then run it down to at least 20% — one full cycle typically stabilises the readout.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ALBA D31H is showing a 'no battery' or 'incompatible battery' message with the new cell installed — what's happening?

The D31H runs a BMS authentication check on insertion, and a new replacement cell can fail that check on the first attempt if it hasn't completed a charge cycle inside the camera. Remove the battery, insert it again, and charge it fully through the camera body or the original OEM charger. That charge cycle is usually enough for the camera to accept the cell and clear the error.

Shot count seems much lower than expected — flash and continuous AF both seem to drain this battery fast. Is that normal?

The 1050mAh rating reflects total cell capacity under standard discharge conditions, not a specific shot count. Flash recycling, continuous autofocus, image stabilisation, and screen brightness all add to the draw beyond the base spec. In practice, heavy flash use can reduce the number of shots significantly compared to shooting in ambient light with AF locked. Reduce flash frequency or switch to single-shot AF to extend each charge.

The D31H body gets noticeably warm during sustained video recording — is the battery causing that?

The heat comes from the combined draw of the image sensor, image processor, and any stabilisation running simultaneously — not from the battery alone. The 3.7V cell is supplying sustained current to all of those at once, which is a heavier load than still shooting. The warmth is normal for continuous video on a compact camera. If the body gets hot enough to trigger a thermal warning, pause recording for a few minutes to let the sensor cool before continuing.
