Fits Archos 45 Helium 4G, 45b Helium 4G, 50c Neon with OEM part number TBW5986.
3.7V and 1550mAh capacity match the original cell output for calling, messaging, and data connectivity.
Connector and locking tab align with the factory slot — no modification needed for installation.
We bench-tested this cell in the 45 Helium 4G; the BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion without fault codes or delayed voltage ramp.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging enabled — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve before high-current charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Archos 45 Helium 4G — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TBW5986)

This is a 3.7V, 1550mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original battery in the Archos 45 Helium 4G, 45b Helium 4G, and 50c Neon smartphones. It matches OEM part numbers TBW5986 and AC300CA. Voltage, dimensions (64.53 × 49.75 × 4.56mm), and connector orientation match the original cell.

  • 45 Helium 4G, 45b Helium 4G, and 50c Neon compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V supply rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake on each uses the same two-wire communication line, so one cell works across all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 45 Helium 4G platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held stable voltage under simultaneous LTE and display load, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge reset: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge controller applies high-current input to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Archos 45 Helium 4G

This is a voltage cliff failure. Under combined LTE modem and screen load, internal cell resistance causes voltage to drop sharply — even when the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The phone's low-voltage protection trips before the gauge catches up. It happens most often on aged cells where impedance has climbed. A new cell with lower internal resistance sustains voltage under that same load, so the cliff disappears.

Phone reports wrong battery percentage after cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on these Archos devices uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. Swap in a new cell and the counter is working off the wrong reference — reported percentage drifts or jumps. One full discharge cycle from 100% down to the automatic cutoff, then a full charge to 100%, forces the IC to rebuild its curve against the new cell. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Archos 45 Helium 4G won't turn on after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks out the cell when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V per cell during storage — a protection trip, not a dead battery. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold. Once voltage clears that floor, the phone powers on normally.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted this replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the USB charging protocol handshake sometimes falls back to standard 5V/0.5A while the BMS initialises against the new cell. Unplug the cable, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect using the original Archos charger — not a generic USB port. If fast charge still doesn't kick in, complete one full standard charge cycle first; the BMS typically accepts the fast-charge profile from the second cycle onward.

The battery percentage on my Archos 50c Neon jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then suddenly 35% without much use.

Erratic percentage jumps mean the fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against a new cell discharge curve it hasn't mapped yet. The coulomb counter accumulated error from the old cell and is correcting in large steps. Run one full uninterrupted discharge — use the phone normally without plugging in — down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% in a single session. That gives the IC a clean reference cycle and the jumps stop.
