Fits Bauer BA-610, BA-611, C-51, C-61 cameras; replaces OEM battery CS-NP55.
6V 2100mAh Ni-MH delivers full capacity for image capture and flash cycles on these models.
Connector matches original slot orientation; no locking tab modification needed for BA-610 body fit.
Bench testing showed flat discharge curve typical of Ni-MH chemistry; BMS accepted cell without handshake delay.
On first install in the BA-610, run one full charge cycle through the camera body before heavy shooting — camera firmware maps battery voltage to remaining-shot display using this cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bauer BA-610 / BA-611 / C-51 / C-61 Series — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 6V, 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement cell for Bauer cameras including the BA-610, BA-611, C-51, and C-61 among fourteen additional compatible models. It slots into the original battery compartment and connects to the camera's power circuit without modification. Capacity is rated at 12.6Wh.

  • BA-610 / BA-611 / C-series fit: These models share a common 6V power rail and the same physical battery form factor, which is why a single cell covers all of them. The BMS in each body reads voltage at the same thresholds, so the cell communicates state-of-charge consistently across the range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on compatible Bauer bodies. The BMS accepted the cell after one full charge cycle from within the camera body, and the battery-remaining indicator stabilised by the second cycle.
  • First-cycle initialisation on Bauer bodies: Run one complete charge cycle through the OEM charger or camera body before any heavy shooting session. Some Bauer bodies will not map the battery percentage display accurately until the BMS has logged a full charge-discharge cycle with the new cell.

Dead battery indicator on the Bauer display with a partially charged replacement cell

Ni-MH cells have a flatter discharge curve than the voltage profile the Bauer body's indicator was calibrated against. When you install a fresh replacement, the camera sometimes reads mid-charge voltage as critically low because its threshold map expects a steeper drop. This is a display mapping issue, not a cell fault. Running one full charge cycle recalibrates the indicator so it tracks the new cell's actual curve correctly.

Battery percentage jumping erratically during a shoot

This happens when the camera body's voltage-to-percentage table doesn't yet match the discharge curve of the replacement cell. The indicator samples voltage at short intervals and maps it to a percentage, but if the curve differs from the factory cell, small voltage dips trigger large percentage drops. Flash recycling and continuous autofocus draw brief high-current spikes that amplify the effect. Charge the cell fully via the camera body, run it down completely once, then recharge — the indicator will track accurately from that point at approximately 5.4V minimum cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bauer camera shows a dead battery icon straight after I installed the new cell — is the cell faulty?

It's almost always a BMS authentication check, not a dead cell. The Bauer body samples voltage on insertion and compares it against an expected profile; a new Ni-MH cell at partial charge can read as critically low against that threshold. Place the cell in the OEM charger or charge it fully through the camera body once, then power cycle the camera. The icon clears after one complete charge cycle in most cases.

The shot count I'm getting is noticeably lower than the rated capacity suggests — why?

Rated capacity is measured under a steady, low-current draw. On a Bauer camera, flash recycling, continuous autofocus, and image stabilisation all pull additional current beyond that baseline, which reduces total shot count significantly. Cold ambient temperatures compound this further because Ni-MH cells lose available capacity below about 10°C. Keep the battery warm before a shoot and disable features you're not using — this brings real-world shot count closer to the rated figure.

Flash recycling time is noticeably slower near the end of the charge — is that a cell problem or a camera problem?

This is a cell issue, not a camera fault. As a Ni-MH cell discharges toward its cutoff voltage, the current available to recharge the flash capacitor drops. The capacitor takes longer to reach full charge, so recycle time stretches. It becomes most obvious below roughly 5.6V. If recycling is slow from the start of a fresh charge, check that the cell reached full charge — the Bauer OEM charger's indicator light should be steady green before you begin shooting.
