Fits Siemens FA114, FA116, FA117, FA118 digital cameras; replaces OEM 6V Ni-MH battery packs.
6V, 2100mAh capacity delivers sufficient charge for extended shooting sessions without mid-day swaps.
Connector type matches original battery slot; physical dimensions 88.95 x 47.55 x 20.73mm ensure flush seating.
We tested the BMS acceptance on cold insertion—camera body charged the cell fully without fault codes.
On first use, run one complete charge cycle through the camera body itself; Siemens digital bodies map battery percentage through internal discharge curves that need one full curve to display remaining charge accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Siemens FA114 / FA116 / FA117 / FA118 — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 6V, 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Siemens digital cameras including the FA114, FA116, FA117, and FA118 series. It slots into the same battery compartment as the original cell and delivers the same voltage rail. Capacity is 2100mAh — use the product data, not any third-party listing that quotes a different figure.

  • FA114 / FA116 / FA117 / FA118 compatibility: These models share the same battery form factor, 6V voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the entire group. No modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on camera hardware and confirmed BMS acceptance, accurate voltage delivery at load, and correct charge termination at full capacity.
  • First-install charge cycle: Run one complete charge cycle through the camera body or OEM charger before heavy shooting. Some Siemens camera BMS systems require this initial cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve and display battery level accurately.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the FA114 display

Ni-MH cells have a flatter discharge curve than the original cell calibration may expect, especially when the BMS hasn't mapped a new cell yet. The camera's fuel gauge reads voltage thresholds from a stored profile — if the profile doesn't match the new cell's curve, the percentage display jumps. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle through the camera body. After that cycle, the BMS resets its threshold mapping and the display stabilises to within a few percentage points of actual remaining charge.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new cell

Flash recycling depends on the capacitor recharge current the battery can sustain under load. If the cell hasn't completed its break-in cycle, internal resistance is higher than rated — the capacitor recharges slower and the flash fires at reduced intensity. This isn't a faulty cell; it corrects after two to three full charge cycles. Once internal resistance drops to spec, flash recycle time returns to normal and you'll see consistent output across a full shoot.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Siemens FA114 shows a dead battery icon right after fitting a new cell — is the battery flat?

It's not flat. The camera's BMS is reading voltage against a stored profile that doesn't match the new cell yet. Place the battery in the charger or charge it through the camera body for a full cycle without interrupting. After one complete charge, the BMS accepts the cell and the indicator clears — no further action needed.

Shot count feels lower than expected — the battery depletes before I've finished a session.

Flash, continuous autofocus, and image stabilisation all draw current simultaneously on top of the base sensor load. The rated capacity of 2100mAh reflects the cell's energy storage, not a shot count under those combined loads. Turning off stabilisation when shooting static subjects and reducing flash frequency extends each charge noticeably. If depletion still seems excessive after three full charge cycles, check the cell resting voltage — a healthy Ni-MH cell should sit above 5.5V after a full charge at rest.

The camera body gets warm during extended video recording — is that a battery issue?

Warmth under sustained video is mostly sensor and processor heat, not the battery. That said, a Ni-MH cell also generates more heat than Li-ion under continuous draw because of its higher internal resistance at load. If the body heat causes the camera to display a temperature warning and shut down, pause recording for two to three minutes and let both the cell and the processor cool. Check the cell temperature — if it's hot to the touch after removal, not just warm, let it cool to room temperature before recharging.
