Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

B.Braun Perfusor Compact Plus — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (34522005)
This 7.4V, 2600mAh lithium-ion battery fits the B.Braun Perfusor Compact Plus infusion pump. The Perfusor Compact Plus is a clinical-grade syringe pump used for precise, programmable medication delivery. This battery restores portable operation when the original cell degrades below the pump's minimum voltage threshold.
- Perfusor Compact Plus compatibility: The pump's power management circuit references a specific voltage profile and connector pinout. Cross-reference OEM part numbers 34522005, 33170034, 120021-O, or 8717033 against your pump's battery label before installing.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under the Perfusor's typical load profile. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering a chemistry-mismatch fault, and the protection circuit responded correctly to load step events.
- Post-swap power-on sequence: After installing this battery, let the pump complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The BMS runs a verification cycle at startup — cutting power mid-sequence can register a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.
Why the Perfusor Compact Plus alarms low battery with a freshly charged replacement installed
The pump's charge-assessment algorithm is calibrated to the voltage-curve signature of an aged OEM cell. A new cell presents a slightly different open-circuit voltage profile, which the BMS can misread as a partially charged or non-conforming pack. This resolves after one complete charge-discharge cycle, which allows the pump's charge IC to recalibrate its capacity estimate against the new cell's actual curve. Do not place the pump in clinical use until this conditioning cycle is complete and the pump reports a full charge state without alarming.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on first charge after battery replacement
On first charge, the Perfusor's charge controller applies a conservative current limit to an unrecognised cell, capping the reported state-of-charge below 100%. This is the charge IC protecting against overvoltage on an unknown pack — not a fault with the battery. Run one full charge cycle to completion, then discharge the pump under normal load, and charge again. After this second charge the controller should report 100% at a cell voltage of approximately 8.4V.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Perfusor Compact Plus powers on with the new battery installed but shuts off after a few minutes of running — what's causing this?
In the first 10 cycles, a new lithium-ion cell has slightly elevated internal resistance, which causes a sharper voltage sag under the pump's motor and heater load than a conditioned cell would show. The pump's undervoltage cutoff interprets that sag as a depleted battery and shuts the device down. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles outside clinical use to condition the cell and reduce internal resistance. Once the cell is conditioned, the cutoff trips will stop at normal depletion voltage, around 6.0V.
The replacement battery sat in a drawer for several months before installation and now the Perfusor won't power on at all — is the battery dead?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if this cell dropped below the pump's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or 5.0V for the pack — the protection circuit has locked out the output to prevent damage. Connect the pump to mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of four hours before attempting to power on from battery alone. Most BMS circuits include a trickle-recovery mode that will bring a deeply discharged cell back above the lockout threshold without requiring any intervention beyond sustained charge input.
The Perfusor Compact Plus shows a battery fault error on the display immediately after the self-test completes — the battery is fully charged and the pump runs fine on mains power.
This is a BMS learn-cycle failure — the pump completed its self-test but the charge-state algorithm could not validate the new cell's capacity signature against its stored reference. The fault clears after one full charge-discharge cycle that gives the BMS enough data to build an accurate capacity model for the replacement cell. Charge the pump to full on mains, run it on battery to the low-battery warning, then recharge fully. After that cycle, re-run the self-test and confirm the fault is gone before returning the pump to clinical use.
