Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bionet Compact 5 / Compact 7 / BM3 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (10-5705)
This is a 10.8V Li-ion 3400mAh (36.72Wh) replacement battery for Bionet patient monitors including the Compact 5, Compact 7, BM3, and BM3 Vet. It fits the same battery bay and connector as the original Bionet 10-5705. Use it in clinical, hospital, and veterinary settings where the monitor operates on battery power during transport or bedside rounds.
- Compact 5, Compact 7, and BM3 platform fit: These models share the same 10.8V three-cell Li-ion architecture, battery connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery pack covers the full range. Substituting a different voltage pack will trigger an immediate fault on the monitor's power management board.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge, discharge, and BMS communication verification on Compact 5 hardware. The protection circuit responded correctly to charge termination, over-discharge cutoff, and the monitor's periodic state-of-charge polling during runtime.
- Post-install self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the Bionet monitor to complete its full power-on self-test sequence without interruption. Medical-grade BMS firmware runs a verification handshake at startup — cutting power mid-sequence registers a battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot cycle.
Bionet monitor alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The Bionet BMS compares cell voltage against thresholds calibrated to the OEM cell's charge curve. A new replacement cell hasn't completed a learn cycle, so the BMS can read state-of-charge conservatively on the first use. The alarm clears after one complete charge-discharge cycle, which lets the BMS map the actual capacity of the new cell. Run the monitor on battery until the low-battery warning appears naturally, then charge to full before clinical deployment.
Bionet monitor won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge over time. If the pack voltage drops below approximately 9V — the BMS recovery threshold for a 10.8V three-cell pack — the protection circuit latches off and the monitor will not respond to the power button. Connect the monitor to mains power first and leave it on charge for at least two hours before attempting to boot. The charger's pre-charge stage will bring individual cell voltages back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Bionet monitor shows a low battery alarm straight after I put in the new battery and charged it fully — is the battery faulty?
It's not faulty. The Bionet BMS uses OEM cell data to estimate state-of-charge, and a new cell's voltage curve doesn't match that reference until it has been cycled once. Run the monitor on battery power until the low-battery warning appears naturally, then charge back to 100%. After that first full cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the false alarm stops.
The Bionet monitor shuts off unexpectedly during patient monitoring even though the battery indicator showed charge remaining.
The Bionet's continuous ECG and SpO2 load profile creates brief high-current pulses that stress a new cell harder than the BMS's steady-state voltage model predicts. In the first ten cycles, cell internal resistance is slightly elevated, causing momentary voltage sag that trips the under-voltage cutoff before the display catches up. Complete five to ten full charge-discharge cycles before relying on this battery in critical monitoring situations, and confirm resting cell voltage reads above 10.5V before each shift.
The charge indicator on the Bionet monitor won't reach 100% on the first charge with the new battery — it stops at 95% and won't move.
The Bionet charge IC applies a conservative termination current when it detects an unfamiliar cell impedance profile, which is normal on the first charge of a replacement pack. Disconnect the monitor from mains power, allow it to sit for five minutes, then reconnect and resume charging. On the second charge cycle the IC recognises the cell's actual termination behaviour and the indicator will reach 100%.
