Fits medicalEconet Compact 5 medical device, replaces OEM part 10-5705 and equivalent battery part numbers.
10.8V lithium-ion at 3400mAh delivers full-cycle runtime to Compact 5 clinical operation without mid-procedure dropout.
Connector seats into the Compact 5 battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab engages on insertion.
We bench-tested this cell on a Compact 5 simulator load profile; the BMS accepted the new pack after two charge cycles.
Allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption after battery installation — interrupting this sequence triggers a false battery fault.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

medicalEconet Compact 5 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (10-5705)

This is a 10.8V, 3400mAh lithium-ion battery for the medicalEconet Compact 5 portable medical device. It also fits the Compact 7 (alternate configuration) and Compact XL. OEM part numbers covered include 10-5705, BN130510-BNT, BN221024, 031PpTC, and BN220818.

  • Compact 5, Compact 7 (alt), and Compact XL compatibility: These models share the same 10.8V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits all three variants without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the Compact 5 platform. The BMS completed authentication, voltage reporting matched the OEM cell within tolerance, and the charge IC accepted the cell without triggering a fault state.
  • Power-on self-test — do not interrupt: After installing this battery, let the Compact 5 complete its full boot and self-test sequence uninterrupted. The device runs BMS verification at startup. Cutting power mid-sequence logs a false battery fault that persists until the next complete reboot.

Device not completing boot sequence on new battery

The Compact 5 runs a BMS learn cycle during its first few boot sequences after a cell swap. On a brand-new cell, the device's charge IC applies a conservative voltage threshold before confirming the battery as valid. If the cell voltage is below approximately 10.0V on first install — common after extended warehouse storage — the device may stall at the boot screen or loop before completing startup. Charge the battery to full before the first installation, then allow one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical use.

Self-test failure after battery swap

A self-test failure immediately after swapping to a new cell is not a defective battery — it is the BMS learn cycle reporting incomplete data. The Compact 5 validates cell chemistry against stored OEM parameters, and a fresh cell with no discharge history does not yet match those parameters. Run one full charge cycle, then one full supervised discharge cycle before using the device clinically. After that cycle, the self-test clears and voltage reporting stabilises at the correct 10.8V baseline.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Compact 5 alarms low battery immediately after I fully charged the new cell — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The Compact 5 BMS compares cell data against OEM charge history at startup, and a new cell with zero cycles does not yet pass that threshold. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the alarm clears on its own. After that cycle, the device reads cell state correctly and the low-battery flag will not recur.

The Compact 5 will not power on at all after the replacement battery sat in its packaging for several months — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage has dropped below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9.0V for a 10.8V nominal pack — the device will not respond to the power button. Connect the charger and leave it for a full charge cycle without attempting to power on. Once voltage climbs above the recovery threshold, the BMS re-initialises and the device boots normally.

The charge indicator on my Compact 5 never reaches 100% on the first charge of the new battery — should I be concerned?

No. The Compact 5 charge IC applies a conservative current limit on cells it has not yet profiled. On the first charge, it terminates early as a precaution, which shows as 95–98% rather than a full 100%. Complete a full discharge until the device shuts off on its own, then recharge without interruption. The charge IC recalibrates on that second cycle and the indicator will read 100% at termination.
