Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DOOV LM1 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PL-C15)
This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh (7.6Wh) Li-Polymer cell that fits the DOOV LM1 smartphone. It replaces the original PL-C15 pack when the existing cell can no longer hold charge or causes unexpected shutdowns. Dimensions are 75.90 × 60.76 × 3.08 mm — verify physical fit before installation.
- LM1 platform compatibility: The LM1 uses a 3.8V single-cell Li-Polymer architecture with a connector and BMS handshake matched to the PL-C15 spec. Swapping in a cell outside that voltage window trips the charge IC and prevents the device from powering on.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge passes on the LM1 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC reached termination voltage cleanly at each pass.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On the first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the DOOV LM1 after a cell swap
A new Li-Polymer cell has a different internal resistance profile than the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was trained on. Under high-draw moments — screen at full brightness, mobile data active, GPS running — the new cell's voltage sags faster than the coulomb counter expects. The system reads a safe percentage but the actual cell voltage drops below the hardware cutoff threshold and the phone shuts off. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate recalibrates the coulomb counter to the new cell curve and corrects the voltage-to-percentage mapping.
OS percentage jumping erratically after replacement
The LM1's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge model from the old cell in non-volatile memory. A new cell with different capacity characteristics causes the IC to misread state-of-charge, producing percentage jumps of 10–15% in either direction. The fix is a full calibration cycle: drain the phone until it powers off automatically, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After one complete cycle the IC overwrites the stale model and percentage readings stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why won't my DOOV LM1 power on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the PL-C15 dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it connected for 30–45 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC runs a low-current trickle recovery pass that pulls the cell voltage back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point the phone will boot normally.
The DOOV LM1 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges after a cell swap — is that normal?
A freshly installed Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a conditioned cell, so the charge IC works harder to push current in during the first few cycles, generating more heat than usual. This is normal for the first two to three charge cycles as the cell forms and impedance drops. Keep the phone out of a case during those initial charges to allow heat to dissipate. If the device still runs noticeably warm after five full cycles, check that the replacement cell connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and increases heat at the interface.
Fast charging stopped working on my LM1 right after I installed the PL-C15 replacement — standard charging still works fine.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the LM1's charge IC may not negotiate the fast-charge handshake with a new, unconditioned BMS. The chip defaults to standard 5V charging as a safety measure rather than risk pushing high current into an unverified cell. Complete one full standard charge-discharge cycle first, letting the phone charge to 100% and discharge naturally to automatic shutdown. After that cycle, fast charging re-negotiates correctly on most units because the BMS has completed its initialisation sequence with the new cell.
