Fits Sonim XP3-S and XP3 Enduro smartphones; replaces OEM part XP3-0001100-2.
This 3.7V, 1200mAh cell delivers 4.44Wh — enough to restore full runtime on a degraded pack without exceeding the device's power budget.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is fixed by the contact layout.
We cycled this cell on the XP3-S and confirmed the BMS accepted the new pack without voltage lockout; modem draw stayed stable across discharge.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — the fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against the new cell curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Socketmobile Sonim XP3-S — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XP3-0001100-2)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell replacing OEM part XP3-0001100-2 in the Sonim XP3-S and XP3 Enduro rugged smartphones. Both models share the same battery bay dimensions and connector, so one cell fits the full pair. Capacity is 1200mAh (4.44Wh), matching the original spec.

  • XP3-S and XP3 Enduro compatibility: Both devices run the same 3.7V voltage rail, identical physical footprint at 56.02 × 35.56 × 6.08mm, and use the same BMS handshake. The connector seats and locks the same way on either unit — no adapter needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the XP3-S. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, protection circuits tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold, and charge current tapered as expected in the CV phase.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After fitting a new cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. The XP3-S fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle lets it recalibrate against the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Sonim XP3-S after a cell swap

The XP3-S uses a coulomb counter that was mapped to the original cell's internal resistance and voltage-discharge curve. A new cell has different impedance characteristics, so the fuel gauge misjudges the remaining capacity. Under modem transmit or screen load, voltage sags below the shutdown threshold before the gauge reaches 0%. One full discharge-charge cycle corrects the mapping and stops premature shutdowns.

XP3-S reads wrong battery percentage after replacement

The fuel gauge IC stores charge-state data tied to the previous cell's behaviour — after a swap, that stored data is stale. The phone may show 80% on a nearly empty cell or drop from 50% to 10% without warning. Power the device fully off, charge uninterrupted to 100%, then drain it completely to near shutdown. After one full cycle the gauge recalibrates and percentage readings stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions

My XP3-S won't turn on after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks — is the cell dead?

Most likely the cell dropped below 2.5V per cell during storage, triggering BMS lockout — this is a protection state, not permanent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 30–60 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC needs time to trickle-charge the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold. Once voltage climbs past approximately 3.0V the BMS releases and the device will boot normally. If the screen shows no charging indicator after an hour, try a different cable before assuming the cell is faulty.

Fast charging stopped working on the XP3-S after I fitted the replacement — it only trickle charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell may not immediately negotiate the XP3-S proprietary charge protocol, so the charge IC falls back to a lower current rate as a safety default. This is not a fault — it resolves after one complete standard charge cycle. Let the phone charge fully at the lower rate, discharge it normally, then charge again. Fast charge should re-engage on the second cycle once the BMS and charge IC have exchanged handshake data correctly.

The XP3-S gets noticeably warm near the battery during charging — is that normal with the new cell?

A new cell arrives with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so more energy converts to heat during the initial charge cycles. On the XP3-S the charge IC does not yet have a resistance profile for the new cell and may push slightly more current than optimal in the CC phase. Warmth — not hot — is expected for the first two or three cycles. If the back becomes too hot to hold comfortably, check that the phone is not charging on a soft surface trapping heat, and charge at room temperature until the cell impedance drops after a few cycles.
