Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Dopod Touch Pro HD — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BLAC160)
This 3.7V, 2700mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Dopod Touch Pro HD smartphone. It fits under the OEM part numbers BLAC160, 35H00120-01M, and BA S340. Installation requires opening the rear compartment and swapping the old cell directly.
- Touch Pro HD compatibility: The Touch Pro HD uses a single Li-ion cell at 3.7V with a specific connector and BMS handshake tied to the Windows Mobile power management stack. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector orientation so the OS recognises the battery without throwing a charge error on boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Touch Pro HD's charge IC and confirmed the BMS accepts the handshake, allows a full charge to 4.2V, and holds termination correctly at end-of-charge without false cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On the Touch Pro HD, the fuel gauge IC retains calibration data from the old cell. After fitting this battery, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. This resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve.
Why the Touch Pro HD reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Touch Pro HD uses a fuel gauge IC that builds a discharge model from repeated charge-drain cycles on the original cell. When you install a new cell, the IC still references the old model, so reported percentage drifts from actual state of charge. This mismatch is worst in the middle of the charge range, where the old curve and new curve diverge most. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 4.2V resets the reference and corrects the readout.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still running the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve and the new cell hits its actual low-voltage cutoff earlier than the display predicts. Under modem or screen load, the cell voltage drops sharply below the BMS protection threshold — typically around 3.0V — before the OS has registered low battery. The fix is the same calibration cycle: drain to automatic shutdown, then charge fully without interruption. After two full cycles the gauge tracks the new cell accurately and the early shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Touch Pro HD powered off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the Touch Pro HD calibrated its voltage-to-capacity curve against your old, degraded cell, so it predicts a higher remaining charge than the new cell actually has at low voltage. Under modem or display load, the new cell's voltage drops to the BMS cutoff threshold — around 3.0V — before the OS registers a low-battery warning. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the shutdowns will stop.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months before I installed it — what do I do?
A cell stored for an extended period can drop below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. The Touch Pro HD's charge IC may refuse to start a standard charge cycle on a cell this far discharged. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC should apply a low-current pre-charge trickle to bring the cell voltage back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes.
The Touch Pro HD feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during charging than a broken-in cell does. The Touch Pro HD's charge IC pushes constant current into the cell until it reaches 4.2V, and a fresh cell's internal resistance is slightly higher, converting more energy to heat in those first cycles. This reduces after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the device becomes too hot to hold comfortably or the screen shuts off from thermal protection, disconnect and let it cool to room temperature before resuming the charge.
