Fits Fly IQ442 smartphone and replaces OEM battery part number BL4247.
3.7V and 1500mAh capacity delivers enough charge for core phone functions including calling, messaging, and app use on the IQ442.
Battery slides into the rear compartment with connector alignment pins facing the motherboard contact pads — no locking tabs.
We bench-tested this cell on a Fly IQ442 fuel gauge IC; the BMS accepted charge current without early cutoff and held voltage under standby load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge recalibrates to the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fly IQ442 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL4247)

This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Fly IQ442 smartphone. It replaces OEM part BL4247 and fits the IQ442 directly. Capacity is 1500mAh (5.55Wh) — matching the original cell specification.

  • IQ442 fitment: The BL4247 footprint is specific to the IQ442 — 55.90 x 53.80 x 5.06mm. The connector and cell dimensions match the original bay. No third-party adapters or modifications required.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on the IQ442 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first cycle. Voltage held stable under simultaneous modem and display load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting, disable fast charging if your IQ442 supports it and run one complete discharge-charge cycle before normal use. The fuel gauge IC on the IQ442 is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle lets it map the new cell's voltage profile before reporting accurate percentages.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the IQ442 after a cell swap

A new Li-ion cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity curve than the worn cell it replaces. The IQ442's fuel gauge IC still references the old curve, so it can misread remaining capacity by a significant margin. When the modem transmits or the display runs at full brightness, current draw spikes — and the new cell's actual voltage drops below the cutoff threshold before the gauge expects it. The phone shuts down even though the reported percentage looks safe. One full discharge-charge cycle corrects the gauge mapping and eliminates most unexpected shutoffs.

IQ442 percentage jumping erratically after replacement

Erratic percentage readings — jumping from 45% to 60% or dropping suddenly — point to a coulomb counter that is still running the previous cell's calibration data. The fuel gauge IC accumulated correction factors for the old degraded cell and is now applying them to a new cell with different internal resistance. This is not a fault with the replacement battery. Discharge the phone until it powers off automatically, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces a full recalibration cycle and stabilises the reported percentage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Fly IQ442 won't turn on after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?

Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to the power button when the cell is in this state. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing anything. If the BMS recovers, the charging indicator will appear and the phone will boot normally once the cell reaches approximately 3.0V.

The Fly IQ442 feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is something wrong?

A new high-impedance cell accepts charge current less efficiently in its first few cycles, which produces more heat than a broken-in cell. This is normal behaviour on the first two to three charge cycles and settles as the cell's internal resistance drops. Keep the phone out of a case during charging for the first few cycles to allow heat to dissipate. If the warmth persists beyond the third full charge, check that the charger output does not exceed 5V/1A for this device.

After fitting the BL4247, the Fly IQ442 reports 100% immediately on power-on and then drops fast — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC is reading the new cell's open-circuit voltage and mapping it to a percentage using calibration data from the old, degraded cell. A fresh cell at rest sits at roughly 4.18–4.20V, which the miscalibrated gauge reads as 100% — but the slope of discharge looks steep because the curve mapping is wrong. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter resets its reference points and percentage reporting stabilises.
