Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gigabyte Aero 15W-OG4 / Aorus X9 DT — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This is a 15.2V, 6100mAh (92.72Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for a range of Gigabyte laptops. It fits the Aero 15W-OG4, Aorus X9 DT-CL5M, Aero 15-Y9-9FR4711P, Aero 15 OLED NA, and 96+ additional models sharing the same cell format and connector. If your original battery no longer holds a charge or the system reports critically degraded health, this cell restores full portability.

  • Multi-model fit across Aero and Aorus lines: These Gigabyte laptops share the same 15.2V four-cell architecture, physical footprint, and BMS communication protocol. The connector pinout and fuel gauge IC handshake are identical across the series, so one cell covers a wide model range without firmware differences.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, full-load discharge, and BMS cutoff cycles on Aero-series hardware. The BMS accepted the cell immediately, the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold, and charge termination completed cleanly at 100%.
  • Post-install calibration on Gigabyte BIOS: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap — skip it and the gauge stays wrong for weeks.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting a new cell

Gigabyte's BIOS stores learned capacity data from the previous cell in EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, the stored values no longer match the actual chemistry, and the firmware flags it as degraded before a single cycle completes. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the BIOS recalculates health against the new baseline. After two to three full cycles, the health reading stabilises.

Laptop shuts off abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the cell cannot sustain the voltage rail under combined CPU, GPU, and display load — the cell hits a voltage cliff that the fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped to the correct state-of-charge percentage. The OS gauge is reading a calibration from the old cell and misjudges how much capacity remains. Force a full discharge to the hibernate cutoff point — around 2.5V per cell minimum — then charge fully to 100% without interruption. After two calibration cycles the gauge aligns with actual cell voltage and the premature shutdown stops.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Gigabyte Aero shows the new battery as "0% available (plugged in, not charging)" right after install — what's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC is reading EEPROM data written by the old cell and hasn't initialised against the new chemistry yet. Disconnect the charger, let the laptop discharge fully until it hibernates, then plug in and charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the IC to recalibrate its charge curve against the actual cell. After one complete cycle the system recognises the battery normally.

System info shows the battery capacity as noticeably lower than the rated 92.72Wh — is the cell faulty?

Not necessarily. The Wh figure displayed in Windows or Gigabyte's Control Center is pulled from the EEPROM on the old cell's circuit, not measured directly from the new one. Until the BIOS completes a full learn cycle, reported design capacity will differ from the actual cell rating. Run two full discharge-to-charge cycles and the EEPROM value updates to reflect the new cell's rated chemistry at 92.72Wh.

Charging stops at 80% and won't go higher — is this a problem with the replacement cell?

This is almost always the BIOS charge limit, not a cell fault. Gigabyte laptops include a firmware-controlled charge ceiling — typically set to 80% — to reduce cell wear during daily use. Check Gigabyte Control Center or BIOS under Battery Health Mode and disable the charge limit. Once that setting is off, the cell charges to 100% without issue.
