Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GIONEE Elife S5.1 / GN9005 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL-N2000B)
This is a 3.8V, 2050mAh lithium-polymer cell built to replace the OEM BL-N2000B battery in the GIONEE Elife S5.1 and GN9005 smartphones. It slots into the same battery bay and connects to the same flex-cable connector as the original. Capacity is rated at 7.79Wh.
- Elife S5.1 and GN9005 platform fit: Both models share the same motherboard voltage rail, the same BL-N2000B connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both devices without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Elife S5.1 charge IC at 3.8V nominal. The BMS accepted the charge handshake on first connect, held cutoff at 4.35V charge ceiling, and triggered low-voltage protection at 3.0V discharge floor without tripping prematurely.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before any high-current session begins.
Why the Elife S5.1 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Elife S5.1 uses a fuel gauge IC that stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the real cell chemistry. The gauge reads voltage and estimates percentage against the wrong reference, so the number on screen drifts. One full discharge from 100% to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge to 100%, forces the IC to rewrite its reference table. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem radio or display fires a short high-current draw and the cell voltage dips below the BMS protection floor before the fuel gauge registers the drop. The phone cuts out even though the screen showed charge remaining. It is a calibration gap, not a faulty cell. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging — by the second cycle the coulomb counter has enough data to predict the voltage sag under load, and the early shutdowns stop. If the fault persists after two cycles, check that the battery flex connector is fully seated — a loose pin raises contact resistance and amplifies the voltage sag.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Elife S5.1 shuts off at around 25% battery — is the new cell defective?
Almost certainly not a defective cell. At 20–30%, the modem or display pulls a brief current spike and the cell voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge can react — the phone cuts power even though the percentage still shows charge remaining. This is a fuel gauge calibration gap against the new cell's discharge curve. Run two full cycles (discharge to auto-shutdown, charge to 100%) without fast charging, and the coulomb counter recalibrates. Shutdowns stop once the gauge accurately predicts voltage sag under load.
Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the BL-N2000B replacement — what's wrong?
The charge IC on the Elife S5.1 negotiates a fast-charge handshake on the first cycle after a new cell is installed, and some units reject the elevated current until the BMS has completed one standard-rate charge. Plug in with a standard 5V/1A charger for the first full charge rather than a fast-charge adapter. After that initial cycle, reconnect your fast-charge adapter — the handshake should accept and charging current will step up normally.
My Elife S5.1 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?
Li-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS will have locked out to prevent cell damage — the phone will not respond to the power button or show a charging indicator. Connect it to a 5V charger and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing anything. Most BMS circuits include a trickle-recovery mode that slowly raises cell voltage back above the 3.0V threshold before allowing normal charge current. Once the screen shows a charging icon, the BMS has unlocked and the cell is recovering normally.
