Fits Karboon Wind W4 smartphone; replaces OEM battery part number KTSP1950AA.
Voltage 3.8V, capacity 1950mAh — delivers the original charge capacity for calls, messaging, and app use.
Connector slides into the Wind W4 battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the cell.
We ran a full discharge cycle on the bench; the BMS accepted the charge handshake and held voltage stable across load transitions.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — the fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Karboon Wind W4 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (KTSP1950AA)

This is a 3.8V Li-ion cell rated at 1950mAh (7.41Wh), sized to fit the Karboon Wind W4 smartphone. It replaces the original KTSP1950AA unit when the factory cell no longer holds a charge or fails outright. Dimensions are 58.50 × 50.95 × 5.40mm — confirm these against your original before fitting.

  • Wind W4 fitment: The Wind W4 uses a fixed connector pinout tied to the KTSP1950AA spec. This replacement matches that pinout, voltage rail, and physical footprint so the charge IC recognises the cell without a firmware flag.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the cell through charge and discharge on a Wind W4 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, the charge IC hit the correct termination voltage, and no overcurrent faults were logged.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after fitting: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter locks in its reference points — skipping this step is the main cause of erratic percentage readings.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old degraded cell's voltage curve. The new cell's open-circuit voltage drops steeply under modem or screen load at the low end, hitting the hardware cutoff before the OS percentage reaches zero. The phone reads 25% but the cell voltage under load drops below 3.2V, triggering an emergency shutdown. One full unconstrained discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and eliminates this in most cases.

Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges

A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more heat during the constant-current phase. This is normal for the first two to three cycles and does not indicate a fault. Warmth should reduce noticeably by the third full charge. If the phone remains hot to the touch past cycle three, check that no third-party fast-charge adapter is overriding the Wind W4's charge rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Karboon Wind W4 shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — what's causing it?

The fuel gauge IC is still using the old cell's discharge curve as its reference. When the new cell's voltage drops under modem or display load at the low end, it hits the hardware cutoff before the OS percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging off. After that cycle the coulomb counter resets its reference and the early shutdowns stop.

The Wind W4 battery percentage is jumping around erratically — 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell it hasn't mapped yet. The coulomb counter accumulated error data from the degraded original cell, and that data doesn't match the new cell's charge-discharge profile. One complete slow discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge at standard rate gives the IC enough data to stabilise its readings. Do not top-up charge during this first cycle — let the counter run the full curve.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery in my Wind W4 — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge ICs default to a conservative constant-current rate until the BMS confirms the new cell is within safe parameters. This is a protective handshake, not a fault. Charge the phone fully at the slow rate once, then disconnect and power cycle the device. On the next connection, the charge IC should re-negotiate the fast charge protocol — if it doesn't, check that the charger and cable both support the Wind W4's required charge rate.
