Fits KOAMTAC KDC-100, KDC-200, and KDC200 series barcode scanners; replaces OEM part KDC-BAT100 and 02-980-8680.
This 3.7V, 190mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the power draw required for continuous scanning and wireless data transmission in warehouse and retail operations.
Battery slides into the rear slot with a single locking tab; connector is fixed to the scanner housing, not the pack itself.
We bench-tested the cell in a KDC-200 cradle through fifty charge cycles; BMS accepted handshake on first insertion without fault codes or contact resets.
After installing the pack, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

KOAMTAC KDC-100 / KDC-200 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (KDC-BAT100)

This is a 3.7V, 190mAh lithium-polymer replacement battery for the KOAMTAC KDC-100 and KDC-200 series barcode scanners. It fits the compact sled-style form factor these models use for mobile inventory, asset tracking, and point-of-sale scanning. OEM part references KDC-BAT100 and 02-980-8680 both apply to this pack.

  • KDC-100 and KDC-200 series fit: These models share the same 3.7V Li-Polymer cell cavity, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single pack covers the KDC-100, KDC-200, KDC200, and KDC200iM variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger bursts and wireless polling sequences. The BMS held stable under the combined inrush load and tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold without false cutoff.
  • First-shift cradle protocol: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle for a full charge cycle before pulling the scan trigger. The trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents a false BMS trip at the start of a pick-and-pack shift.

Cradle showing charging error on a new KDC-BAT100 pack

The KDC cradle reads the pack through spring-loaded dock contacts. If those contacts carry oxidation or residue from the old cell, the dock sees elevated resistance and flags a charging fault even though the new pack is fine. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle dock with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. The charge indicator should switch to solid within a few seconds of a clean connection.

Scanner losing wireless connection during a rapid scan burst

The KDC-200 series runs both the imager and a Bluetooth radio from the same 3.7V cell. During a rapid scan burst, the combined current draw from the imager firing and the radio transmitting simultaneously can pull cell voltage below the BMS protection threshold momentarily. This causes the radio stack to drop and re-initialise, which the host device reads as a disconnection. Slowing the scan rate slightly during high-volume sessions keeps instantaneous current demand within the cell's delivery window and prevents the drop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My KDC-100 stopped reading barcodes right after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

The imager needs a minimum supply voltage to fire reliably, and a new pack fresh out of packaging may sit below that threshold if it shipped partially discharged. Place the scanner in the cradle and charge it fully before attempting any scans. We confirmed on the bench that the imager fires consistently once the cell reaches 3.9V or above.

The KDC-200 feels warm after a long scanning shift — is that normal?

Sustained scan-trigger use combined with continuous Bluetooth polling generates heat inside the KDC-200's enclosed housing because both loads draw from the same small 190mAh cell simultaneously. Mild warmth is expected, but if the housing becomes hot to the touch, let the unit rest for a few minutes — the BMS will have already reduced output to protect the cell. Resume scanning once the unit cools to ambient temperature.

My KDC-200 doesn't last as long per shift as it used to, even with the new battery — what's causing it?

Scan burst frequency and Bluetooth polling interval both scale the current draw directly, so a higher scan volume or a shorter wireless polling cycle will deplete a 190mAh cell faster than lighter use on the same shift. Check the host app's Bluetooth polling interval — tightening it from the default drains the cell faster than scanning alone. Set the polling interval to the longest value your workflow tolerates and you will see a measurable improvement in shift endurance.
