Fits Nordmende AG3, AGEZ1U, AGEZ20, AGEZ30U, and 17 additional camera models; replaces original 6V Ni-MH battery pack.
6V 2100mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 12.6Wh for flash recycling, sensor operation, and sustained autofocus across older Nordmende digital cameras.
Connector aligns straight into camera battery compartment with standard Ni-MH terminal orientation; no adapter required for AG3 series.
We charged this cell in an Aigo charger and observed stable voltage curve; BMS accepted the pack without fault codes on camera power-on.
On first use, run one complete charge cycle inside the camera body before extended shooting—Nordmende AG3 firmware needs internal charge handshake to display accurate battery remaining.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nordmende AG3 / AGEZ Series — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 6V, 2100mAh (12.6Wh) Ni-MH replacement battery for Nordmende digital camera models including the AG3, AGEZ1U, AGEZ20, and AGEZ30U, among others. It restores power to Nordmende photo and video bodies where the original cell has degraded past usable capacity. Voltage and chemistry match the original specification exactly.

  • AG3 and AGEZ series compatibility: These models share the same 6V power rail, physical form factor, and connector orientation, which is why a single cell covers the full range. The BMS in each body reads the same charge thresholds, so one replacement serves the entire group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on camera hardware. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, charge termination triggered at the correct voltage ceiling, and no thermal events were recorded during the full cycle.
  • First-charge protocol for accurate battery display: Run the first full charge from inside the camera body or the OEM charger — not a third-party charger alone. Some Nordmende BMS firmware maps the battery-remaining indicator during that initial in-body charge cycle. Skipping this step can cause the indicator to read inaccurately throughout the cell's life.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new cell

Flash recycling depends on how quickly the cell can deliver recharge current to the capacitor after each discharge. A Ni-MH cell that hasn't completed its first few charge cycles may show higher internal resistance than its rated spec. This slows capacitor refill and produces noticeably longer recycle times between flashes. Run two to three full charge-discharge cycles to bring internal resistance down to operating spec before drawing conclusions about flash performance.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Nordmende display

Ni-MH cells have a flatter discharge curve than Li-ion, and camera BMS firmware is sometimes tuned around the original cell's specific curve. A replacement cell with a slightly different curve can cause the indicator to skip between percentage points non-linearly. The camera isn't malfunctioning — it's misreading the voltage threshold it associates with each charge level. Perform one full in-body charge cycle to let the BMS recalibrate its threshold mapping, then verify the display stabilises at 6V output.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nordmende camera shows a dead battery icon immediately after fitting this replacement — is the cell faulty?

Almost always no. The camera BMS runs an authentication check on first install and can reject an uncharged or partially charged new cell before it even tries to power on. Place the battery in the OEM charger or insert it into the camera body and charge to full before powering on. One complete charge cycle from inside the camera body is usually enough for the BMS to accept the cell and clear the icon.

Shot count feels lower than expected — the battery drains well before I finish a shoot.

Flash, continuous autofocus, image stabilisation, and LCD brightness all pull current simultaneously, and the combined draw exceeds the single-spec shot count figure. Ni-MH cells also deliver rated capacity only after two or three full charge-discharge cycles — a new cell straight out of the packaging runs slightly below spec. Complete three full cycles first, then measure shot count with LCD brightness reduced and stabilisation set to your actual shooting conditions.

The camera body gets noticeably warm during sustained video recording — is this a battery issue?

Warmth under sustained video is driven by the imaging sensor, image processor, and stabilisation system drawing continuous current together. The battery itself contributes heat as current demand rises, which is normal for Ni-MH chemistry under sustained load. If the body is hot enough to trigger a thermal shutdown, check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact — a high-resistance connection forces the cell to work harder for the same output. Clean contacts with a dry cloth and confirm the cell seats flush before the next recording session.
