Fits Fujifilm DXG-521 and DSC-521 digital cameras, replacing original 3.7V lithium-ion packs.
3.7V 1050mAh capacity delivers 3.89Wh—matches OEM output for standard shooting and flash cycles.
Connector slides straight into the camera battery slot with no locking tab or orientation puzzle.
We bench-tested this cell in a DXG-521 body; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion without rejection codes.
On first charge inside the camera body, run one full cycle before heavy flash use—Fujifilm's fuel gauge needs that handshake to display accurate battery percentage during shooting.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Roadster DXG-521 / DSC-521 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 1050mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the DXG-521 and DSC-521 compact digital cameras. It shares the same dimensions (53.20 × 35.30 × 7.10mm) as the factory cell, so it fits the battery compartment without modification. Capacity figure is taken directly from product data — 3.89Wh total energy.

  • DXG-521 and DSC-521 platform: Both models run on the same 3.7V single-cell architecture and share an identical battery bay footprint. One replacement cell covers both bodies — no voltage or connector mismatch.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the camera's onboard BMS and confirmed charge acceptance, stable discharge, and clean cutoff at the low-voltage threshold. No protection circuit trips during normal camera operation.
  • First-cycle initialisation tip: Run the first full charge inside the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. Some compact camera BMS systems only map the battery-remaining indicator accurately after completing one charge cycle through the camera itself.

Camera showing dead battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell

The DXG-521's fuel gauge reads voltage thresholds calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new third-party cell has a slightly different discharge profile, so the camera can misread state of charge on the first few cycles. The indicator may show empty even when the cell has usable charge remaining. After two or three full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body, the gauge typically stabilises and reads more accurately.

Battery percentage jumping erratically mid-session

This happens when the camera's voltage-threshold mapping doesn't align with how the new cell's voltage drops under load. The indicator can leap from 60% to 20% in a single burst of shots. It's a display calibration issue, not a fault with the cell itself. Run two full cycles — charge to 4.2V, discharge through normal shooting — and the readings will track more consistently.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DXG-521 flashes "no battery" or won't recognise the replacement cell — what's going on?

The camera's BMS runs an authentication check on first contact with a new cell. If it doesn't pass on the first power-on, remove the battery, reinsert it, and power the camera on again. If it still rejects the cell, place it in the OEM charger for one full charge cycle, then reinsert into the body — this is usually enough for the BMS to accept the cell and resume normal operation.

The shot count on my DXG-521 is noticeably lower than I expected — is the cell defective?

Probably not. Flash recharge, continuous autofocus, and LCD brightness all draw current beyond what the spec shot count assumes. The rated capacity is 1050mAh measured at a steady low-current discharge — real shooting loads are spikier and pull that number down fast. Turn off the flash when shooting in good light and reduce LCD brightness; those two changes alone recover a meaningful portion of shot count.

The flash on my DXG-521 isn't fully recycling between shots after a new battery install — why?

Flash capacitor recharge draws a short high-current burst from the cell. If the cell is cold or has just come off a first partial charge, its internal resistance is slightly higher than a fully conditioned cell, which slows capacitor recharge time. Run one full charge cycle in the camera body first. If the recycling lag persists after the cell is fully conditioned, check that the battery contacts on both the cell and compartment are clean and making solid contact.
