Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Z5 Compact — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LIS1594ERPC)
This is a 3.8V, 2600mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Z5 Compact. It fits the E5823 and E5803 variants. OEM part numbers LIS1594ERPC and 1293-8715 both cross-reference to this cell.
- Z5 Compact, E5823, E5803 fitment: These models share the same battery cavity dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The 92.10 × 51.80 × 3.85mm cell format is specific to the compact chassis — standard Z5 cells will not fit.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the E5823 and confirmed the BMS handshake completed without error flags. The charge IC accepted the full 2600mAh rated capacity across three consecutive cycles, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge without erratic jumps after the second cycle.
- First-cycle fuel gauge calibration: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Z5 Compact after a cell swap
The Snapdragon 810 in the Z5 Compact pulls significant current during LTE modem activity and display peaks. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance curve can hit a voltage cliff under that combined load — even at 25% reported charge — dropping below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge catches it. This is not a faulty cell; it is the fuel gauge IC still operating on the old cell's discharge model. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging resets the coulomb counter and maps the new curve. After recalibration, unexpected shutdowns in the 20–30% range typically stop.
USB fast charge not activating after replacement
The Z5 Compact uses a proprietary fast-charge handshake over the USB port's D+/D− lines. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC may refuse fast-charge mode because the fuel gauge reports an uncalibrated state — the device defaults to standard 5V charging as a safeguard. Plug into the original Sony charger, allow one full slow charge to 100%, then drain to below 10% before recharging. After that conditioning cycle, fast charge should re-engage at the correct current on subsequent charges.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Z5 Compact shuts off at around 25% after fitting this battery — is the cell bad?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC in the Z5 Compact calibrated its coulomb counter to your old, degraded cell — it no longer maps correctly to a fresh cell's discharge curve. Under the combined load of the LTE modem and display, the phone hits a voltage drop the gauge hasn't accounted for, triggering a hard BMS cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging and the gauge will remap to the new cell; shutdowns in that 25–30% range should stop after that cycle.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it was at 60%, then jumped to 45% with no use. What's wrong?
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating after the cell swap. The Z5 Compact's coulomb counter built its model over hundreds of cycles on the old cell; replacing the cell resets that learned curve, so percentage readings can skip or drift for the first few charge cycles. Let the phone discharge to below 5% and then charge fully, uninterrupted, twice in a row. By the second full cycle the IC will have enough data to stabilise percentage reporting.
The phone won't power on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks before install. How do I recover it?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if this one dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell the BMS will have locked out to prevent damage — the phone won't boot because the BMS is blocking output. Connect it to the original Sony charger and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a low rate to bring it back above the BMS recovery threshold. Once voltage recovers above roughly 3.0V the BMS unlocks and the phone will power on normally.
